For several days now I have been trying to view "Churches: How to read them - Dark Beginnings." This is the first in the BBC1 series originally aired on Monday May 2nd.

Each time I attempt to play the programme with iPlayer, I get a message, "This content doesn't seem to be working. Try again later." I have - for three days in a row!

It is really frustrating since as of yesterday, there are only 2 days left to view this programme and the count-down continues. This would appear to be a technical download problem at BBC's end.

Can anybody help or explain how I may view this programme?

In all other respects, my iPlayer is working and able to obtain other programmes with no difficulty.

    Dave

    Hi Dave,
This was broadcast in the BBC sign zone last monday and is available here www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye...

My guess is you've been trying the watch using the standard unsigned link so it isn't working.

The unsigned version was last broadcast on BBC Two on the 17th September 2010 so has gone well past it's 7 day availability window and expired.

    Hello Matt,

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried it by following your link but still got the same message. I've had no difficulty viewing other similar programmes. For example, I just finished watching the excellent "If walls could talk" by presenter Dr. Lucy Worsley with absolutely no difficulty.

Any other thoughts? Is anybody else having difficulty viewing the "Churches" programme?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,
It seems to be working fine for me from the above link so it should work.

Try clearing your browser cache in case it's stored an error that's stopping it playing iplayerhelp.external...

    Dear Matt,

Sorry for the long delay in answering (business trip priorities out of the country) and thank you for your suggestions.

I'm afraid that after trying all, I could not receive the program or even download to iPlayer. Perhaps something I'm doing incorrectly.

It's too late now since the date has expired.

    Again, thanks.

    Dave.
