    Hi

Can anyone help? The iPlayer used to have 3 download options to either:

    iPlayer Desktop
    Windows Media
    Portable Media Device

I know that not all of the options were always available for every programme but now it seems you can only download to iplayer desktop and I can find no instructions to help me sideload to my go gear ariaz

Does the iPlayer upgrade mean I can no longer download to my PC then move to my device?

I hope not but if I'm missing a trick and anyone can help I would be most grateful as my 3 hr daily commute is becomimg increasingly boring!!!!

    Thanks in advance

If the programme in question is more than a week old then only the iPlayer desktop version will be available in cases where availability is extended.

I will now ask you a question. Why do you not tell people which browser you are using?

If as I suspect you are using Internet Explorer 9 you have fallen foul of a Microsoft problem generated by that upgrade.

There are a number of options.

    Downgrade to IE8.

Use a superior browser, personally I use Opera but others are available, although FireFox 4 is giving some people problems.

Force IE9 to use an IE8 mode for the page. Click F12 (function key 12, top of keyboard) to force developer tools. Then change Document Mode from IE9 standards to IE8 standards. The change only appears to last the session and only on that tab.

It is also possible to use IE9 as it stands by hovering the mouse pointer over the place that the alternative download options would be and clicking blind when the pointer changes from arrow to hand.

    Hi sdinuk,
I'm going to guess you're using IE9 which seems to have trouble displaying these options.

You can try hovering where the Windows Media Player and Portable Devices version should be and they should work.

Turning on IE8 compatability mode might also help www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

    Hi Matt

Turning on IE8 compatability has done the trick and well guessed. Apologies new to this so didn't think to mention the browser it was all fine a fortnight ago!

Really pleased it's sorted. Thank You!

Thank You and to answer your question - I'm a complete novice with this technology apologies if you find that frustrating. Despite that I am grateful for the response and most importantly the solution.
