When I stream iplayer to my widescreen TV via my PC, the image fills the screen horizontally, but not vertically. As a result the image appears squashed. Does anybody know how to overcome this? My PC uses an NVidia FX 5200 video card and it makes no difference whether I use an RGB or a DVI/HDMI output.

I use my TV controls to change the screen's aspect ratio until it "looks about right" i.e. if it's showing as "fat-tv" (squashed, with short fat people and oval footballs), I change the screen to 4:3 then it looks OK. Of course, it still doesn't completely fill the screen, but it looks more natural.

You need to run a widescreen resolution to your TV, such as 1366 x 768
