I have a Centrino 1.0ghz laptop with 2 gigs of ram. Not the latest model, but it played programmes downloaded via the old manager absolutely fine.
However, once I'd upgraded to the Desktop Player, the programmes were jerky and unwatchable. Streaming content is still okay, and my laptop has already demonstrated that it's fast enough to play the content. Seems to be the changes made to the Desktop Player that have caused the problem...
Is there any way to solve this?
As stated in the help pages iplayerhelp.external... , this is because the quality is too high for your system. You can still get Windows Media Player downloads, try accessing those.
