I'm running windows xp and using a mobile internet dongle. After finally managing to install iplayer, I have tried to download some programs but because the status shows as 'offline', it just will not allow me to. How do I get Iplayer to realise when I'm online?

Who is your ISP? Mobile dongles may have download speed and size limits, and/or traffic management which is likely to be the reason for this.

Go to Preference and uncheck the 'run player desktop on computer start-up'
    Close the application
    Reboot the system

    Now connect to internet

Now Manually open the iplayer desktop by clicking the icon

Let me know if this help.
