I have a HP 2133 with a 1.6GHZ processor that seems fine for streaming programmes but not for playing downloaded ones offline. Any ideas how I can improve this?- I'm only get a few frames/ second even when out of full screen mode.

I have the same situation with my 1.73Mhz laptop. I think these machines are just too slow to handle the processor requirements of iPlayer Desktop :(

    Such is life, I guess.

You need to find out how to alter the refresh rate on your netbook. Go to start, control panel, display, appearance, screen resolution. In the advanced settings, you should find a drop down, which allows you to alter the screen refresh rate. The menu may be different on your netbook, but a bit of searching around should find it.

Some netbooks only have one refresh rate, so they can't be altered. If it can be changed, try experimenting with different refresh rates to see what works. A general guide would be "the faster the better".
