I seem to have lost the ability to bookmark a search results page. I used to have bookmarks to all my favourite radio shows e.g. Radcliffe. The bookmark URL saved from the search results now doesn't contain the search term, so the search fails smiley - sadface

Totally agree!! - VERY DISAPPOINTED in not being able to see the full site on the iphone any more - bring back the old site or at least provide a link to the full site so don't have to use the mobile one which looks like it's designed for much smaller screens and less capable browsers - iphone safari can cope fine with the main page, so please provide an option to use it!!

You can bookmark search results by typing in [Unsuitable/Broken URL removed by Moderator]which works quite well for the moment.

I don't believe the iPhone has been able to view the full (PC desktop) iPlayer site for at least a year. In recent memory, it has always had a custom mobile specific interface. The PC desktop site has Flash components which will not work on your iPhone.

I have to say, I don't really think it's an improvement either.

I have to agree here. I used to watch iplayer on my iphone in bed when it's not convenient to use a laptop and it was great being able to browse the full website and easily locate programmes I wanted to watch.
Now however it is an utter nightmare to use.
Please please bring back the old full version or at least give us the option to view the non mobile cut down iplayer.

Same hear. The new interface is awful but more importantly the reduced number of programmes on offer in the new interface is a bigger problem. So bad that it has significantly reduced the value of iPlayer on iPhone.

    A totally retrograde step.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD INTERFACE

The new iplay for Iphone is poor - BRING THE OLD ONE BACK

On radio 7 now, there is only a selection of the programmes on each day - its really annoying.

Please let us know why all the shows are not available like they used to be, even though they are available when using a pc or laptop.

I really hate the new iphone iplayer. I used to be able to watch programmes or listen to radio shows that I wouldn't have viewed before, but now it's hard to even find the shows I specifically wanted to see. And it won't let me listen to radio shows! Please please please bring back the old iplayer , or I may never be able to listen to the news quiz again!!!!

Last night I settled down to listen to the first episode of the new series of I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue, the antidote to panel games, on my iPod touch.

I was able to find the programme without too much difficulty as it was in the day's listings. However, it just displayed the picture and programme details and wouldn't play. What has happened?

The last time I used iPlayer on my iPod (about 3 months ago) everything was fine and it would play all programmes without any problems. I checked the "Help" and that said I needed to upgrade to the latest iPod software - which is crazy because the existing software on my iPod is more than capable of playing BBC iPlayer programmes as it has done so often in the past.

From the comments above even if I do send Apple lots of money to update the software on my iPod (to listen to a "free" programme), it sounds as though it still won't work.

What is going on BBC? You named your iPlayer after the iPod (and don't pretend that the name and capitalisation is just a coincidence), so why have you broken the iPlayer so that it doesn't work any more?

    Humph will not be pleased.

Last night I spent a few pounds and a couple of hours to update my iPod to the latest software (3.x). It does now let me listen to radio programmes on iPlayer, which is a great relief and contrary to what I'd been led to believe - I apologise if I have introduced more FUD and confusion.

I'm still not sure why anyone would want to stop it functioning with the old iPod firmware (1.x) when that was working just fine.

I wonder what happened to "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"?

Would like to add my request to either go back to the old layout or tweak the new one. It's currently like using a Mickey Mouse website.

    Specific problems:

The titles of shows get truncated ("Peter Tinniswood's Winston at..." what? War? Woolworths?)

There's no information on which specific episode of a radio serial relates to which link (e.g. Book At Bedtime). Please provide at least basic information. You have to listen to the first few minutes of the show before an announcer might say "Episode 3". Then you need to go back and guess at the one you want, and repeat until you chance upon it.

Also, please consider 'drill down' by show title. If I look at Radio - Comedy - Satire, I get a page full of episodes of 'Fighting Talk'. Why not have one 'Fighting Talk', then click on it to see the episodes of 'Fighting Talk' that are available? And let me bookmark 'Fighting Talk', so I can quickly go to any new episodes that might be available.

iPlayer (radio especially) is now virtually useless on the mobile site.

There is a way to get the old "iPlayer Beta" version, but it only has TV shows, and is via a commerical portal. So the old site is still there somewhere, but mobile users are being re-directed to the current dreadful site.

Please can some re-working be done? This used to be a useful service, but no longer.

    Thanks

I do agree, I emailed the BBC about and was given the usual non-answer about how to use iPlayer on iPhone. Most of the changes to the iPlayer website including the mobile site have made the service virtually unusable. What a shame!
