IPlayer not working

    Hello, up until now I have been downloading programs and watching them with no problems. I have just finished watching one, immediately afterwards, I tried to play another and all I got was a black screen within the IPlayer. What to do?

    Do you get to see the 3 second chanel trailer, then the blank screen, or just nothing? I get the former regularly, and I believe it is because there is a problem with my internet connection at the time - though I don't really understand why it should need it, as the program is on the PC. (Everything plays OK in the end!!!) My impression is that you may then need to reboot to clear out any old connection problems to get it all working again.

    Hi PB,

    I believe it is because there is a problem with my internet connection at the time - though I don't really understand why it should need it, as the program is on the PC.

    I believe Desktop checks the licence online before it plays the programme to make sure it is still available. If for whatever reason (problem with your connection, slow response from a server somewhere etc) it can't verify the licence, it wont let it play. Once it's checked the license, it will play from your computer.
