    Hi,

We are aware of the missing download for Merlin and some other programmes and are still working on this. Sometimes technical issues take a while to fix, but we have been working on this.

    Thanks for your patience,

    Jonathan

Please take up as a matter of urgency with the BBC Trust provision to extend the availability window of programmes which owing to BBC technical difficulties have not been able to be placed in all permitted formats online.

Merlin will expire for downloading on Saturday giving people less than the full 30 day window to download and watch.

Further to my last message, this is still a problem we are working on. Apologies for the inconvenience, but the normal and high quality streaming versions are working,

Presumably, as it's now 15:00hrs on Saturday 15th, last week's Merlin is not going to be available for download.

The problem of not being able to download this program was raised at least 5 days ago. Despite the announcements that 'we are looking into it' this is a very poor showing of customer support/relations and technical competence by the BBC!

It is very irritating. As you say they have had 5 days to re-encode the programme or whatever needs doing and it just hasn't happened. We have been told in the past that to fix a problem they have to get the tapes back from the archives to run it through the encoders again which can take a few days. We don't actually know that this is how it works but IF it is, then 5 days should be more than enough to do that.
