iPlayer was down last night for maintenance (Sunday 22 November, from about 2230 when I logged in, to midnight - and later?). This meant that I could not listen to the programme I wanted to hear, as it has now expired.
Could you not extend the expiry time when the site is unavailable?
And should you not alert listeners on this message board when iPlayer is going to be unavailable - and explain recent interruptions of service?

And where is the right place to report a fault or error if not here?

I think this is an ideal place to mention a major issue as apparently happened yesterday.
The bbc also sometimes makes announcements in the help/faq section. As far as I am aware nothing was posted by the bbc until this afternoon when the bbc posted in the issues log, and also replied on open threads. (Other than the various not available etc messages when trying to access iPlayer last night) .
If you want to report a problem yourself read the text and see the links above where you type messages.

I don't have any problems with people reporting major issues in here.
The messages that this one from nathan2226:
Can't seem to view any programmes on iPlayer using Firefox 3.5.5
Works fine in IE though

John,
So when some of your servers crashed yesterday evening telling users that you were down for maintainence why not apologise-better than deleting our messages dont you think!

Jonathan (The iPlayer Message Board Host) regularly clears Service Updates to keep it up to date and relevant. If something belongs in a different section, he will move it to that section. Once an event is over (it has been 24 hours now) the posts will be archived. Nothing gets deleted.

I have exactly the same problem and don't understand the reply that has been given as I reckon this is a technical problem with BBC Iplayer!! I have posted under another thread as well!!

Might as well stick it here.

There appears to be a problem with the servers that deal out "licences". Yes I have reported it, and no I haven't received a reply.

Hi Andy,
You're going to have to give more info than that. Which programmes? Are you downloading the Windows Media version or the Desktop version? What's happening?
