    Hello,

Following user feedback, I'm going to reorganise this board - some sections will stay, some will change, and others go. For sections that are deleted, you will still have access to your old messages in your discussion page.

I will also be updating the introductory text to make it clearer what we need from you to help diagnose any problems.

    UNCHANGED:

    Service updates
General discussion (no threads will be deleted)

    EDITED:

Software issues formerly Technical issues which will be deleted to tidy up the board - for when the help site www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye... doesn't give you what you're after and will move some recent threads to their new section where appropriate.
Suggestions to include recommendations (Recommendations section to be deleted)
Archived threads this will delete the current archive

    NEW

These threads will make it easier to report problems with programmes and will be kept up to date. We can't guarantee to fix programmes but this should make it easier to report them.

    Programme problems TV
    Programme problems Radio

As always, the entire board will be for fellow users, not just the BBC, to post and discuss BBC iPlayer.

Ideally these changes should come in as soon as possible, but if you have any comments on them please post here. I would like to make these changes around 11am Friday, but will update you to any alteration to this.

I like the idea of splitting TV and Radio, but would it be more beneficial to separate streaming and downloading?

Hi, not quite in line with the proposals, but I find the current board technology quite awkward to navigate when compared to solutions such as phpBB?

One of the biggest omissions (or at least capability I've not found) is search. This really is essential in trying to see if someone else is already discussing an issue or has perhaps resolved a problem

I find this far more crucial than the categorization especially on active boards

Thank you for listening and splitting the programme problems for television and radio. Good call.
Now sort out the search facility :-))
    All the best,

    Hi Gumrat,

Afraid I only have editorial control, not the technical control to build in search (this is the same for all BBC messageboards). However, by deleting the old Technical issues and other sections and making it more organised, it should make posts easier to find.

The switchover is still going ahead. If you're concerned that your Technical Issue will be deleted, please hold posting until after 11am Friday. Alternatively, search the help site for an answer www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye...
