    Hello,

To help you use this forum and for other means of support for BBC iPlayer, here's a brief guide.

For all technical issues, your first place of call should always be the searchable FAQs at www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye... as these are updated all the time and can go into a depth that would not be practical on this forum.

There is also the helpdesk which you can contact through these help pages, either online or over the phone, and the agents there can give dedicated support. If you have as much information to hand, particularly if it's an issue regarding a programme, you can help us diagnose the problem much quicker.

The help pages also have a feedback system to rate the FAQ and please note that we cannot respond to queries sent as feedback, and constructive suggestions are most likely to be acted upon.

You can of course use this forum for issues, however, for technical problems you are still best of looking at the help pages www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye... first as this board does not have a search facility. Again, if there is an issue you need to raise on this messageboard, please provide as much information as you can, particularly if you are having problems with specific programmes.

    I hope that this helps,

    Jonathan

    To the Manor Born

I started watching this and then stopped it and went to fetch the wife. Now I try again all I get is the station ident and then "Something went wrong - There seems to be a problem playing this video - please try again." I seem to be able to play all other videos on BBC iPlayer.

    Thanks

How do I start a new subject? When I press the button I get a virtually blank screen which looks nothing like what the help screen says you will find?

Seems to be working now - something about a missing component in Windows Media Player.

    Sorry to bother you.

Really enjoying using BBC iPlayer but can't find "Damages" screened yesterday evening. It seems not to be listed anywhere although we have viewed previous episodes without any problem. Any suggestions?

I have also tried to find Damages, shown on Monday evening, having watched two or three episodes previously on BBC iPlayer. I look forward to finding out what has happened to Monday's edition. It's fantastic viewing and I wuold hate to miss an episode.

You mention 'Help Desk' but I can't find a link to it anywhere... Thanks.

The reason I want the help desk is the following: I downloaded the "Shroud of Turin" and wanted to watch it today 5 April). It was first broadcast on 22 March and it should be valid until 12 April. The iPlayer panel shows 6 days remaining but when I tried to watch it, I received a message that "... this programme has expired and is no longer available for download. I don't wish to download it. I've already downloaded it and I wish to watch it. You obviously have some technical issues to resolve!

    Thank you

I have just downloaded Bach and the Lutheran Legacy for iPlayer. As I started to run the file, I was shown the normal image but with a subtitle saying "I am a ghost. Get it?" It then moved on and the text was replaces with "Clear as a bell, yes sir", or something very close to that. Worried that this was some kind of viral nonsense I immediately deleted the file through the download manager.
I wonder whether anyone else has had a similar experience or knows anything about this?
    Many thanks.

Yes,I had a similar experience with a programme I downloaded,it had about 10 days to go,but I accidentally started it,and when I went to watch it found that it had been deleted, you have to take care
what you press or the iPlayer computer must think that you have watched it once, and does not allow you the 30 days.

Would you please put the correct program on as I wish to see Lindisfarne the home of my Ancestors.I am surprised nobody else has commented. Am I your sole viewer?
