Well, after spending three days trying to use Iplayer, I can only assume that there must obviously be a fault, with my lap top as to why for three days, all I seem to have is the most frustrating little circle. No programs, or radio shows seem to wish to play via my internet connection, so it MUST be my fault according to your help website, and yet some how, everything else works fine, channel 4, ITV, a few other streaming websites, all work fine, just Iplayer seems to have it's own ideas, I guess I'll try again in a week or so, and hope my programs haven't been removed due to the 30 day limit. Still I thought some one at the Beeb would like to know that there website is still having issues.

The BBC is working fine for me.

Try clearing your cache - iplayerhelp.external...

This often helps when your browser has cached a faulty webpage response.

    Hi David,

smiley - sadface It is more likely imo to be your system.
(I am not having problems Today)
If you look in the other sections you may see others having had similar problems and possible solutions.

If you post in a suitable section with more detail I am sure someone will try to help.

I do not wish to break the rules myself by continuing this here. (see www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

    Hi David,
Have you tried disabling your firewall? Do you use any other security programmes? Have you tried a different browser?

I got back from holiday at the weekend and tried to access iplayer on Sunday night (8th Nov). Like the people in your previous messages, all I get is the swirly circle. I tried downloading the new desktop iplayer and this will not do anything - it keeps asking me about parental control and I keep filling in the form to no effect. The programs I want to watch are now timing out ...

This is the first time I've had any problems with iplayer and it was working just before I left for holiday - obviously nothing has been changed on the computer while I was away. Help!

Have cleared the temp files and old iplayer now starts to work, but I can't download doctors as it is now hd and i don't have sufficient bandwidth (or so it says), so it judders along. I don't want hd, I just want to watch the episodes i missed while on holiday. I have always been a frequent user and have never had any trouble before. Is there a non-hd version of Doctors?

i tried the new version of iplayer, but can't download anything - I've tried clicking on the link to the iplayer website and the get more programmes button, but they don't do anything. It still keeps telling me i haven't set up parental control - I have and it appears to switch it on and off but still won't actually download anything.

i think i have now solved the problem - the oldest episode (141 -which was the first one I wanted to watch) of doctors on iplayer is only available in hd - more recent episodes give you the option of hd or not. This of course means that I will never know what happened .... can you do anything about it?

Still can't get the new one to do anything despite several uninstalls/reinstalls.

    Hi Jackie,
Episode 141 of Doctors was available in standard definition until shortly before your post. The rules of iPlayer mean that programmes can only be made available for 7 days from the end of the broadcast.

The standard definition version of episode 141 was broadcast at 1.45pm on Monday 2nd November. This expired at 2.15pm yesterday (Monday 9th). This was no longer available when you posted. The HD version of episode 141 however was broadcast at 6pm on Monday 2nd so when you posted, only this version was still available. This was available until 6.30pm on Monday 9th.
