    Has something changed with iPlayer?

It's not working for me today... the little embedded "today/yesterday" schedule has changed and when I click on a programme, I get a big empty space where the image with the play symbol should be.

    Can anyone help?

    thanks

Same here - even uninstalled the download manager to remove Kontiki and now I can't even re-download that as the button isn't live, or even visible on the download page.

I am getting an "illegal character" message in glow.js and widget.js in Firebug 1.3.3/Firefox 3.0.10/Win XP SP3 on this page (the post submission page), and 8 errors or more on other pages, which would explain why there is a problem. I get the same errors in IE7. I think I'll try again later - another computer here doesn't seem to be experiencing any problems (??)

I think it's a problem with the latest Java update. I've got an error saying Javascript needs to be enabled when it is already. I've tried to uninstall the latest Java update (14) with no luck so far, but I'm fairly sure it will be to do with this (it's the only change I've made to my system since it last worked for me).

Firefox on Vista for me. I've just installed Java 14 as well - and have nothing showing where the screen image normally is!

I've been getting Java updates on a daily basis, so thought there may be something a bit odd.

    * goes off to try to uninstall Java *

I thought it was just me having this problem as a result of my mac upgrading to Safari 4.0.

I'd even gone to the trouble of uninstalling iPlayer Desktop and tried to reinstall it but "download" button is invisible.

I too am getting no error messages but the control buttons are blanked out, and I cannot see a full list of programs for TV or radio.

I sent a message to the FAQ to see if it was just because Safari 4.0 was not supported yet. Awaiting a reply from iPlayer support.

Same here. Not sure if it has to do with Java because I didn't have an update. Last time this happened I was able to listen on iPlayer when I switched from Firefox to IE *snarl*. No such luck this time. I finally managed to listen to programmes when I went through the bbc homepage, then to BBC 7 (in my case), on to Listen Again, then picked the programme I wanted, where it gave me the dreaded blank black screen as well but also a link that said "click here if you want to listen in real player". Cumbersome but it worked. I hope the techies at the BBC are just having a bad day and things will get back to normal real soon.
    Happy listening,
    Hawkie

It's a pity the BBC haven't posted a message explaining the problem - sounds like British Airways silent policy on delays

I'm getting exactly the same problem. It was working perfectly this morning and has been working the past month+ no problems at all.

I'm running windows 7 64bit and my isp is enta.net (ADSL24) - ive tried uninstalling all the flash/air programs and reinstalling, also disabling nod32. Nothing has worked so far, so must be a tech fault. Hope its resolved asap.. My mates can all get on iplayer no probs :S

I'm having exactly the same problem. There is nothing to click on to watch a programme and just an empty space in the middle. This has been since last night so I hoped they would have fixed it by now. Most frustrating.
