Well John, as far as I am concerned it resolves the problem, If I have the choice of listening to Daleks under water via the BBC web site, or good clear radio via Realplayer then Realplayer wins every time.

    Hi mpearsonmadrid,

supply the correct URL for the relevant contact form?

    TRY : https://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/templates/bbciplayer/emailForms/emailPage

The contact form link may be found from the link where you type messages, it says "this FAQ on how best to report a problem with a programme. "

It then leads to the faq "How do I report a problem with a programme, like a missing download, shortened programme, or encoding issue? " - iplayerhelp.external...

The link to the contact form appears in the second paragraph and again towards the bottom with the (underlined) text "contact us"

The link does not always show up on the messageboard I did try to post it at the start of the message and will repeat it again here ---> https://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/templates/bbciplayer/emailForms/emailPage

If you see text instead of a link copy and past it or type it into the browser location bar.

As such links have been removed sometimes I wondered if it was breaking some BBC rule to post such a link, I did however have it re-instated and received an email from the mods saying it had been removed in error. If it does not display correctly it may be because of a messageboard bug, but please do not report it, even if not a clickable link it is useable.

I am in Minsk, Belarus and my wife is in southern Germany. We are both experiencing the "underwater" effect on IPlayer listening to Radio 4 and Radio 3. The problem includes total dropout, too. It makes listening almost impossible. What is going on, BBC??

I've submitted a contact form with details, as I've been having problems with iPlayer since Sunday. For me it's fine on the wifi radio and on WMP. I see they do have a message about it in Latest News, so it must be pretty widespread.
    My location is Dublin, Ireland.

    Well spotted, csfriel,

Although it has not come through on my RSS feed as yet but I did find the 'Latest News' you refer to it is only a few minutes old:

"BBC Radio 4 programmes - Sound problems
    19 October 2010 15:28" - iplayerhelp.external...

We are aware that some users are experiencing sound issues whilst streaming BBC Radio 4 programmes. This is currently being investigated and we hope to have the situation rectified as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience. ...

Despite Sunday being the busiest day for iPlayer maybe it is a day off for the BBC workers, and so has taken until today Tuesday to do anything about it. Despite the 24/7 monitoring.

Note only Radio 4 problems have been acknowledged, not R3 or R7 problems.

I hope the problems are now solved.
The BBC removed the announcement, so I take that to indicate they have sorted out the problems.

I did notice someone else posted ( www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb... ) in an adjacent thread also saying a contact form had been sent off and including the the edgeserver info that the BBC usually finds useful when fixing these problems.

I'm the person who posted on that, and another thread - and, yes, I'd submitted a contact form.
I can confirm that, in Rome at least, R4-FM listen live is back to normal again.

    Isobel,

    :) Thats good news

Lets hope its fixed for others too.

(If others are on a different edgeserver, some problems could remain, hopefully contact forms have been sent in from all regions & problems are all fixed)

I'm in the UK and Five Live has been doing this for the past three days. I have to listen on my computer at work as radios don't work in the building I'm in. I even rebooted my computer as I thought it was my problem.
