Listen Again appears to have stopped working when listening from abroad. CYP tell me when it will be fixed?

    Thank you.

Listening via "Reciva" internet radio in central NJ, USA

PS: okay ... I know it's a naive question ... just logging my dissatisfaction.

    Hi Jow,

I had problems here in UK with Radio yesterday, and with bbc website, I think others may have had problems too, but BBC seems now to have stopped using both the services updates and the RSS feed to inform users of problems, and there has been no announcement.

Not having problems at moment with UK flashPlayer listen again streams, so today it is not a total global failure of iPlayer .

The BBC issues log now seems to be restricted to BBC staff, we can see it updates but not what it contains !

BBC iPlayer Issues Log – Fortnightly report - New
    31 March 2010 13:40

You will no doubt remember from some of Alan Ogilvie's posts

    - BBC advice was to always also use contact forms, have you done so this time?
    - BBC feedback and support was being changed and improved, hope you notice improvements

    - maybe the issues log amendment at 13:40 today relates to your problem (or maybe the amendment is just to say the page does not exist, it used to say no access it now gives a 404 error)

Any idea if it is just the Receiva portal having problems ? are you able to check whether a PC will work. or a different type of internet Radio, and does Receva listen live work ok ?

    John

No ... I haven't posted via the contact form yet ... however, at this moment the WMA Five Live stream is down although the Real stream is working, but compromised, buffering, sounds like Donald Duck, etc, etc ...

The listen again problems are because the BBC has removed Real Audio completely from its system and international WMA on demand streams do not work in Reciva. The BBC iPlayer is working properly on international computers, but that's no use to internet radio listeners.

I believe that the BBC are going to slowly switch off the Real Audio streams station by station so they won't all have been removed yet.

    Joe,
Matt may have a point about the RealPlayer streams.

Was Receiva one of the portals that switched to windows streams last year then reverted back to Real Player streams whilst they were available, if so maybe they have done that again this year, IF the bbc has not yet turned off all streams on the original deadline date of end of March.

(I seem to recall a blog or post probably from Alan saying they would not all immediately cease, specifically I seem to recall R4 LW would continue - I have not checked to see what RealPlayer streams I can still get - but that was not the question of your op )
