I know it is a cliché, but have you tried turning it off and on again?

Properly turned off not just closing the window, if in doubt turn off the computer.

I too have this problem...I am online but the BBC iplayer says status offline. Now I can't download to the iplayer but I can download to Windows Media Player. I have tried turning everything off (including the PC) and still have the same problem. Any more ideas??

    Try this :

Go to preference and uncheck the Start Up check box 'Run BBC iPlayer Desktop on computer start up'

    Reboot the system

    Then Open iplayer desktop manually
