Same here! - ipad2 OS 4.3.1 BT Broadband with strong signal - Iplayer app always freezes - occasionally able to get a couple of minutes of viewing time before it hangs if accessed dircetly via Safari. Tried DNS 8.8.8.8 to no avail,. Reloaded & rebooted - waste of time. The overpriced Digital AV Adaptor I bought from Apple for watching iplayer on my TV won't be seeing much action unless the BBC sort this out - c'mon auntie, if 4OD can do it why can't you?

I can confirm that talk talk works first time every time. What are they getting right that my own provider, BT, are not?

    Hi Team,
iPad 2, running iOS 4.3.3 (London NW11) UK
Mobile ISP; (THREE) using there MiFi, average Mb rate 3.5mbps

I just bought the new iPad 2 and Apple at Covent Garden downloaded your BBC iPlayer from iTunes for iPad.

I can't play anything because it just says (connect to WiFi) network and I look at my MiFi device and it's not on 3G and says (H) which is saying it's connected to it's WiFi.

I've called THREE several times and they said it's not a problem at there end and said it must be either the iPad or BBC.

Just as a test I used my iPhone 4 next to me and your iPlayer works great on the iPhone, Can you please help as I'd really like to watch BBC on my iPad.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
    Yours sincerely Duncan

3 of us with iPad2 also cannot connect to iPlayer thru the App.

I installed the I-pad App last week, and none of the shows i tried viewing worked at all except one food program..
Even connecting thru website programmes frequently buffer and given time they still start and stop
Below is a list of everything requested:

    Apple software: 4.3.3 (8J2)
ISP: Sky at Home, TalkInternet at work (doest work at Either)
Signal strength is very good at both locations, .
Actual speed of Internet at home is Max 1.66Mbps which I thought was part of the problem (but my old laptop (pc) works), but at Work we are getting 9.06Mbps and still does not load thru App and still buffers via web.

    BBC Content:
Nearly all programs fail to load. . Live TV and radio work OK
Notification: Failed to load program, please try again later
    .
On the app, tried re-loading but still fail. Even re-installing the app there is no change.
Hope you can get the app and website working correctly for iPad2
    Thank you.

    Apple iPad software version 4.3.2
ISP: TalkTalk. Signal strength seems steady.
Cisco Linksys. Problem goes away when using old D-Link router.

    BBC iPlayer iPad App

All TV programmes fail. Radio programmes load OK.
Message is "Failed to load program, please try again later"
    Website version fails too
    Retrying/shorter programmes doesn't help.
    Changing DNS servers doesn't help.
I can play programmes using the PC version of iPlayer, or the iPhone. It's just iPad that fails.

My theory is that this may be associated with the MTU size on the wireless network. TalkTalk has a low MTU size of 1432, which I have configured on the ADSL connection. I remember doing something quite hacky a while ago with my old D-Link router to get it to play nicely wrt MTU size. My Linksys router doesn't give me a way to configure the MTU on the wireless network.

[The reason I'm trying to use the Linksys router instead of the D-Link is that my Vista PC keeps dropping the wireless connection to the D-Link after about 100Mb of data transfer. Any thoughts about that gratefully received!]

Seems to me that I'm having the same problem as everyone else, tried changing settings as advised above, that did not work for me. Where do I get this 40D, I've tried searching for it in app store but came up with a blank?

Not good enough. All attempts to use iPlayfr on iPad result in freezing and nned to start all over. You have to sort this out. Where is BBC contribution to this thread?

Hi, I have purchased the iPad 2 running v 4.3.3 (8J2) and am unable to download any BBC iplayer programme. I can get to Home page OK. It eventually comes up with failure message. I have put iPad and my desktop computer side by side (both using WiFi) and the desktop runs programme fine, but it will not load on ipad. I have tried accessing site via ipad app and via BBC web site address, but neither seem to work. I am using BT Infinity service and receiving 18.7mb download speed, and network service quality is shown as excellent on PC. I can run Channel 4 player OK on ipad and otherwise access .

    Regards

    John

    Any update on this BBC?

My IPAD has been working fine, most of the time, but when trying to stream live radio it now says, "failed to load program, please try again later".

I have this problem intermittently, last time it was resolved with an OS update from Apple.

This time I have removed the app, rebooted, reinstalled and still get the same problem.

I'm a bit concerned at the lack of any update in this thread from the BBC, especially as this board is due to shut down in a matter of days. Still, here goes nothing:

    - iPad v1, 64GB 3G, Model MC497B
    - iOS 4.3.3
    - Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway WAG354G with firmware 1.01.03
    - Absolutely no programming on the iPlayer app will work, TV or radio, archive or live. It all works fine on my desktop machine though (iMac with OSX 10.6.7). Everything returns the "Failed to load programme; please try again later." error.
    - I have tried over-riding the DNS settings supplied by my gateway to the iPad as described above; it now has Google's DNS (8.8.8.8) - it didn't fix the issue for me, even after deleting and reinstalling the iPlayer app.

I borrowed my mother in law's iPad the other week and used it on my home network without any bother whatsoever. So far as I'm aware, nothing's changed. But I no longer have that iPad here in order to try them both at the same time.
