Sony Bravia Blu-Ray iPlayer Down

    After having used the BBC iPlayer functionality via my Sony BDP-S370 for a few weeks, it seems to have stopped working this evening with the error;
'This Service cannot be accessed at this time because the server replied with incorrect or invalid information.'

My internet connection (Be LLU) is working fine (this is being written on it) and other services (such as Demand Five or Lovefilm) are working fine.

I've done an Internet Video Service service refresh which worked fine, but the iPlayer is still unavailable.

I have had the same problem all day today.

I posted it on the iPlayer message board here as well...

    www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb...

The Sony S370 is fine (works with other internet services) the connection is fine.

It was working well last night.

iPlayer works ok through my PC (via the same router and ISP connection) so this seems to be a BBC sourced problem given how widespread the replies are.

I am hoping someone from the BBC iPlayer team will read this and investigate.

    Thanks

    I too am experiencing:

'Temporarily cannot access the server, please retry' on my Sony Bravia TV HX 803.

And on my Sony BDP-S470 Blu Ray player:

'The service cannot be accessed at this time because the server replied with incorrect or invalid information'

Both can access the other on demand TV services with no problem.

The iPlayer on the above was working fine when I watched something on them about 3 days ago.

Got the same issue on My Bravia kdl40ex503, all other internet TV works fin but no i player. No issue with i player on my laptop and Wii.

I Phoned Sony yesterday and they said it was the first they had heard of it and to monitor the situation over the weekend and call back on Mon if not sorted.

I'm new on here- do we ever get responses from thei player team? Surley they should post to say there is a tech issue?

Come on BBC sort this Iplayer access out. It is not the first time. If you have a problem let your customers know. This loss of service for a day now is on my new Sony TV, previously it was for nearly a week on my satellite FOX Humax box and there was still no explanation. Surely someone at the BBC is monitoring this 'Service Update' site.

I think contact forms will be appropriate. iplayerhelp.external...
Hopefully the BBC will then comment or fix the problem.

Of course problem cold be related to Sony, but even so BBC should be able to comment on it.
(I have not noticed any BBC announcements, has anyone else ? )

You could even resort to tweeting, which I would think will only confuse matters and make it harder for the BBC to gather the necessary information, but BBC appears to blog condoning tweeting, and even admits it may work: www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/...

As long as the appropriate BBC staff member is looking at tweets whilst eating cornflakes. <run>

Yes. A simple acknowledgment from the iPlayer team that the problem is being looked into would be a nice courtesy.

For everyone posting here (and on the 'General Discussions' page) there are bound to be hundreds - or more - others who are putting up with this in silence.

I also phoned my local Sony Centre and they confirmed that none of their Blu-Ray players or TVs can access iPlayer since yesterday morning, and that they have had loads of phone calls.

    Yep it's broken here too!

Got both my Bravia TV and Blu-Ray player connected to the internet, both of them show the same problem, iplayer works fine on a computer - only broken via my TV/Blu-ray player.

Looks like it's been broken since last night as I though it was just a minor glitch, but I tried to watch the F1 qualifying half an hour ago and it's still broken.

Come on BBC! I hope you've noticed!

Just adding another voice ... Same problem with my BDP-S370.

iPlayer was working fine up until Friday ... then confronted by the error message: 'This Service cannot be accessed at this time because the server replied with incorrect or invalid information.'

All other internet services through the S370 are fine ... surely must be a problem for the Beeb to fix?

I would advise everyone with a problem to send off a contact form untill such time as the BBC either fixes the problem or aknowledges it.
(I see no announcements about it or other BBC response yet)

imagine they're already looking into it.. but you never know smiley - :(

I would not be surprised if the first few hundred reports just get a response in a week or so saying look at the faqs,
It seems to take an inordinate number of reports before the info gets passed on to the technical people.

IPlayer is a 24/7 service and Sunday is the busiest say, but that does not mean the fault reporting and repairing will match that, it will probably have to wait till a Monday morning.

Just look how difficult it is sometimes to report problems with iPlayer Radio

Just adding to the numbers. Have been using the iPlayer on the BDP-S570 successfully until last night. I started deleting series of BBC recordings from the Sky+ box to free up some space in anticipation of watching them from the iPlayer and now I can't access it from the Blu-ray. All network is fine so this is a problem between Sony and BBC.
