Chris, although you have failed to give any system information which might help narrow down your problem I will make a wild guess.

Have you been messing with the Beta (pre-production test version) of iPlayer? Past problems suggest that attempting a download from the "normal" iPlayer site once the Beta desktop has been enabled can cause grief which has on occasion been resolved by the total removal, with extreme prejudice, of all traces of the Beta desktop.

Here www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb... you will see that Dave resolved a similar failure to download by un-installing the Beta iplayer desktop and reinstalling from www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye...

It is indeed on the Beta DT, it's working with other programmes though.

Since first reading your post I have downloaded the programme from the normal site to the normal desktop, if you want to download it I suggest that you do it that way too.

Remember that the iPlayer Beta like all Beta software is not provided other than for test and evaluation, with an expectation of faults that can best be discovered by the "better idiot" that we the public provide will be discovered.

You have not made it clear if your successful downloads have been Beta site to Beta desktop or normal site to Beta desktop or even normal site to normal desktop which has since been converted to the Beta desktop. Without that information our exchange will be of little if any use to the BBC in fixing or dismissing any problem.
