I've switched to the Beta system and it seems to regularly cut out, and say either this programme is not available at this time or just buffer.

I like the new design but I also think that not being able to browse highlights of a certain section ie Comedy is a negative aspect of the new design

I'm having the same problem. I can only watch the 800kbps stream as I only have a single core processor, but whenever I put it onto Full-screen, it immediately switches to 1500kbps, causing stuttering. If I then switch back to the normal mode, the stream cuts out and I'm told the content is not working...I have to refresh the page to get it working again and just watch it in the normal mode.

As for browsing certain sections...you can...look under Categories...

The stream consistantly fails, can't get past the 25min mark on luther. Tried different connections, but the same result. New look? if not broke and all that. Hope someone gets it working, feels like amature night at the beeb.

opulent, which episode of Luther are you trying to watch? It's possible that the specific problem you're having could just be due to an encoding error on that episode or something similar.

Also, general advice for anyone who gets the error message "This content doesn't seem to be working. Try again later."or similar; if you right-click and then click 'Copy error message' that might give some clue as to exactly what is going wrong.

Finally, the BBC website seems to be experiencing general technical difficulties in at least the last 24 hours or so:

    www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/...

I have gotten "server too busy" messages while trying to post to this message board, for instance.

I also find myself sometimes clicking on the inbuilt toolbar of 'news' 'sport' etc which is an excellent feature but I think its sometimes part of the iplayer page. So I'll click radio but it will take me to radio www.bbc.co.uk/radio/... instead of radio on the iplayer. So potentially colour could be used to differentiate ie a outline of a bright colour round that inbuilt toolbar.

I know categories are below but they seem to have been watered down when you click on comedy for example. I feel now that I won't notice programmes I might stumble accross and then begin watching

    Title: GenericKind:FMSConnectionError.FMS_CONNECTION_API
Description: CDN Failover, final connection failed
    Code: 4

    What do you reckon?

is some of the problem down to the improvements in adaptive bit rate technology, and lack of low bandwidth on IPlayer v3 Beta:

Jeniffer: The programme of which you write is not broadcast by the BBC and is not on iPlayer. The link you have given is to a site that may be an illegal host of content belonging to The CW Television Network en.wikipedia.org/wik... which is a company belonging to CBS and Warner Brothers.
