I can load the player and select a programme, but when I select 'watch now', nothing happens. The screen stays the same, there is no message to say its loading, it just sits there on the same screen. I have tried various days/programmes with the same result - any help appreciated

This might be a better point of call...

A quote from the website in the getting started section...

Use the direction arrows on your remote control to move through the BBC iPlayer pages, and press OK to select a programme. Not all programmes listed are available to watch - look for the play symbol next to the programme title, which indicates that a programme will play when selected.

This BBC iPlayer BETA version for the Humax HDR is truely fantastic. The help suggestion to link back to the iPlayer web site was very useful as I didn't realise you had to punch in the secret code to start the programme! Once I did that it worked immediately. Now I don't have to squint at a computer screen to watch programmes. Well Done BBC and Humax!

I have a Humax Foxsat HDR, and have followed instructions to a tee to get the iPlayer working on it. My broadband is fine, RJ45 cable into the box of the hummy with a brand new cable, done the red button + secret code thing, and after 10 or so attempts I still get nothing. It just says "Connecting..." on the top right, and does nothing else. My software is up to date on the HDR box, and I'm not sure what else to try. Is it possible my ethernet connection is still disabled? Help! I really want to get this working.

    Many thanks
    Si

how did you access the iPlayer on humax foxsat??? i've connected to the router with an ethernet cable and i configured the foxsat box to it (in the main menu) but i can't find it anywhere. i spoke to a fella from humax help line, but told me to push the red button on any bbc channel. all that does is bring up is the text channels. where am i going wrong?

    First up - www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/...

    Then...

    bbciplayerbetatrial0...

    Finally...

    bbciplayerbetatrial0...

I'd bookmark those links for future reference.

    The three steps are:

    * Press the Red Button from any BBC channel (except CBBC and CBeebies).
    * Enter code 5483 and press enter.
    * BBC iPlayer on freesat will then load after a few seconds.

Hi, did you configure your Humax by going thru the menu system and network?

I have a similar problem to this, red button, choose iPlayer, menus appear, programmes appear, but most say 'not available' and the ones that do give you the option to watch, it says it's getting ready to play and nothing happens, just a blank screen.

Golly gosh a current iPlayer FAQ been published.

Why am I unable to play programmes on Freesat iPlayer?

We are aware of an issue with some users getting a black blank screen when trying to play programmes through Freesat iPlayer. This is under active investigation and we hope to resolve this matter shortly. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused. iplayerhelp.external... 21/05/2010 12:34

Of course they don't give a cuss about all the downloads that expire before they finish downloading or the programmes that have episodes with no download at all (despite previous and following episodes having one). No they fuss about some Beta system. smiley - steam
