I've been using iplayer through Google chrome for several months. Since yesterday the menus and basic interface work but the flash player does not come up and so nothing can actually be played.

Going through MS explorer, everything works fine.

I'm trying to establish whether this is an iPlayer or Chrome issue.

Tried re-installing Flash and Google chrome to no avail.

    Anyone else?

    Hi zaurska,

Not noticed any bbc change but can not rule it out. I seem to recall Chrome has an issue with I think .wmv downloads something to do with active X; but you say it worked anyway untill recently that will not be the problem.

An obvious check is the adobe version test, check correct and latest version is installed and active: kb2.adobe.com/cps/15... Note you should do that with each browser as conceivably each browser could effectively have different flash setup.

Chrome seems to be working fine with iPlayer. I can stream programmes and start downloading a programme to iPlayer Desktop. Chrome doesn't support the More Downloads options, but other than that iPlayer seems to work fine with it.

Have you tried clearing the cache in chrome?

You should also use the adobe flash uninstaller linked here, before reinstalling.

    thanks.

Clearing the cache worked for me. Weirdly, I'd cleared it the day before the iPlayer issue started - and that was the first time I'd ever cleared the cache on Chrome.

So the answer seems to be if you clear the cache, you have to clear it twice for iPlayer to work.
