Whenever I try to install the iPlayer Desktop AIR file, I get the same error message: "The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.".

I've tried reinstalling AIR and turning off my anti-virus software but no joy. Googling reveals this to be a common error message, and one which can be fixed on a Mac by clearing the keychain. What's one of them? Have I got a keychain on my PC? Can I clear it? Would I want to anyway?

E-mailing the BBC gets a stock - and irrelevant - reponse, and when I call the helpline I'm told to call back between 8am and 8.30pm. At 6pm...

I'm a complete luddite so some simple advice would be v appreciated.

    thanks

No, you don't have a keychain

Where have you installed adobe air from, adobes site? Or bbc site?

I tried both, and neither tack worked.

As of yesterday, however, it installs fine - not sure whether to thank Adobe or the BBC

I'm having the same problem. I tried reinstalling Air, but still had the same problem. I tried downloading the .air file, it is bbc_iplayer_desktop_v071786.air and appears to be only 272kb, is this correct?
