Just be yourself, don't let others put you down.
Drama is a subject where you can really show what your full potential is. When your on stage you dont have to be scared becasue people wont be judging you they will be looking at the character you are playing and if you show that you can do it and do it well, people will most likely respect you.
Take drama as a gcse as it is one of the best decsions you could make.
If your feeling down about it, just talk to your teacher because drama teachers are the most understanding, amazing people ever. I respect mine so much.
And i'm leaving in 8 weeks, and i will miss it so much.

Imagine that everyone else is waaay more scared than you. Drama is about helping you to create the confidence to be yourself - and pretend to be someone else and feel comfortable with it!
    Good luck x

i am not to keen on drama either, if drama isn't something you are intreseted in just look at it as if you are nearly finished, so i think that if you try your best and if people make fun of you tell them to shut it because they aint worth it, it aint as if we will see them on the big screen in 10 years is it??

When i was in Primary school, i had loads of confidence but as soon as i moved up to high school, that just dropped away. When it came to choosing my options i chose Drama on a spur-of-the-moment thing and i absolutely love it!!! Being in a small group with people i can have a laugh with and get along with well, my confidence has soared and i'm so glad i chose it!!! If you can't rlax and be yourself in drama lessons at least you have one comfort: you won't have to do it next year (yr10)!!!!!

Drama is not everyone's "cup of tea"

If you are nervous about standing infront of people and acting, just remember that most people in the room are just as scared as you or even more scared than you are.

I take drama for GCSE simply because i am very shy, i am still shy but now i am comfortable with my drama class.

I think that you should try to become more comfortable and relaxed when you are doing drama and also enjoy yourself. Drama is a subject where you can express your emotions of every day life and apply them to a subject.

    Hope this helps

you must remember that in the drama, you are not yourself. The person you are acting as is a different person and you are not that person. That person may do stupid things or say really wied things, but that person is not you. Your views or feelings are not expressed through the charachter you are acting as. All you need to to is become the person you are acting as. Also in order to enjoy drama you must use your imagination. You can weave your own style into the characters. There are no limits to how much you can change the characters you are acting as. For example, you can give them accents or funny habits. And remember, it doesn't matter what people think of you.

Is there somebody in your drama group that you really want to be? Somebody that is really good at drama?

If there is, then why not try pretending you are them, even if you don't FEEL confident, pretend you are. The positive feedback you get from people when you look confident is amazing and will boost your confidence LOADS!

Also, have you tried practising infront of a mirror.
The best thing to do is find a book - magazine etc and stand infront of a mirror and read it out loud. REALLY LOUD if you like :D lol

You will soon begin to get used to the sound of your own voice and your presence. Once you are comfortable with that, you will be fine - there'll be no stopping you :D

    Good luck!

just ignore everybody else in the room! forget they're there.
when you do a performance, just have fun because you never know, you could be better than the people who pick on you.

you just need more confidence in yourself
Just think about it like this
when your on stage or acting you arent being you so if the audience laughs they are laughing at the character your playing. thats how i look at it and i just took my final exam in drama.
    Just have faith in yourself
