The Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca in what is now known as Saudi Arabia in the year 570 CE. When he was 40 years old, he received the first of his revelations from God on a mountain outside Mecca. He was obviously a deeply spiritual man. Muhammad continued to receive these revelations for the rest of his life. They were recorded and complied as the Qu'ran, the Muslim scripture, their equivalent to the Christian Bible. Muhammad gained many followers and eventually conquered Mecca. Thereafter, he was seen as the final prophet of Allah (God). Muhammad died in 622 at the ripe old age of 52.
Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem around the years 4-6 BC. He was born of a virgin birth to a humble woman called Mary. That is, Mary did not have sexual intercourse with her husband Joseph but God gifted her with a baby. This was announced to Mary by the angel Gabriel (who, by the way, also delivered Muhammad's first revelation from God) who told her to name the baby Jesus. Jesus was given the title 'Christ' which means Messiah i.e. it was not an actual name. So, Jesus Christ was God in flesh i.e. God descended to earth in human form. This can be seen by Jesus' teachings as he travelled across the Holy Land. His teachings were recorded by his disciples. Eventually, he was betrayed to the Roman authorities by his disciple Judas. The Roman governor Pontius Pilate, under pressure from the Jews, decided to crucify Jesus. But three days after his crucifixion in the year 30-33 AD, Jesus rose from the dead and appeared again to his disciples and others.
