After enjoying the Malvern show so much earlier in the year, I was pondering going to the Autumn show, but someone said that there weren't many plants to buy at the autumn show. Is this correct? I was hoping to buy lots of different viola's and pansys.

I agree with your informant. Lots of tat to buy but I went to the Autumn Show two or three years ago and vowed not to do so again.

I went to Malvern Autumn show for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, lots of produce type stuff, right up my street.
Giant Veg competition, cider on sale, Dahlia show. Suppose you would get more out of this type of show if you grown your own produce.
If you like buying plants for gardens then perhaps Gardeners World and Hampton Court (if you can afford a ticket) would suit more.

Like Seacarrot I went to Malvern Autumn Show for the first time last year and found lots for 'the gardener' - could have spent a fortune!! Bought some tropical plants and other autumn/winter plants. Got lots of ideas too. Enjoyed it so much went to the Malvern Spring Show and enjoyed that too! The shows are different but both are worth a visit(and perhaps several visits)!

I 'almost' went to the Spring Show, but as a monsoon was forcast I stayed at home and pottered in my new greenhouse.
Did you get wet Apple..?

The am was ok, Seacarrot and in the afternoon there were showers - but the day after the heavens opened!
It took us about 2 hours (to the motorway exit) then about half an hour to the ground - but it was a good day!

I love the Malvern shows, Spring and Autumn, both are worth a visit. They have to be amongst the friendliest and most well organised shows in the country. Unfortunately, I can't go to the Autumn show this year as I will be away on holiday, but I would certainly be going if I could.

Might be worth a visit then. Seems to be lots of mixed reviews around.
I got absolutely drenched in the Spring show on the Saturday!!

So did I!
But then I also got drenched at Gardeners World Live and Tatton Park Flower Show too. It's just been one of those years. The Autumn Show at Malvern is much more than gardening. There are lots of food stands and livestock for the children to make a fuss of and all sorts of other things. It's a really good family day out as well as having lots for gardeners too. I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you do go.

My memory must be failing - I went on the Saturday too and thought I'd just dodged the showers! But I do remember having a great day whether I got wet or not!
As Piggingardener says "It's been one of those years (rain, rain, rain).
I can remember looking for Piggingardener on the Saturday - but was unlucky.
