Would have been better for Jenson if he'd done it with MS, Kimi, Alonso on the track. I think he deserves it. His kind of reliable driving style does work well under these kind of irratic conditions where the best drivers are off or on the wrong tyres. Hopefully, he will now have what he needs to do this under more regular conditions. Who knows? Still, best GP for ages.

10 place penalty... so moved up 13 places... not really held up at all by slower traffic either, as overtaking seemed easier in the rain, well done for the lad, but it wasn't the greatest win ever.

Most annoying thing about him winning sadface Mr Allen never shutting up about it again, or any of the ITV team sadface

If Jenson were in a ferrari or a Renault I am fairly sure he would kick Alonso's ass.
The guy has a lot of talent and I am not the only one saying that.... people in F1 including Alonso, schumacher, flavio, frank williams,... etc have all said he got big talent

The first win is all about winning, get that out of the way and look to the next race win. To look for excuses is just being bitter.

I never thought I'd see Button win his first race on merit but congratulations to him smiley He drove a phenomenal race. Even if Alonso hadn't retired I think he would have won as he was so much faster than Alonso at that point. Nobody can call his win lucky, not even the Button bashers. In the last month or so I have found that I'm becoming a fan of Button pretty quickly, after his comments on Top Gear that he would trade everything for his first win, his brilliant drive last week and now this, I think he really could go on to win a lot more races, and maybe even a championship.

It was a shame that Kimi crashed, but even if he hadn't I don't think he would have beaten Button as De La Rosa was catching him and he couldn't catch Button. Just a little disapointed MS didn't finish. As neither a fan of MS or FA but a fan of F1, I'd have loved to have the championship down to less than 10 points with 50 points remaining.

A mediocre drive, a freak race with freak conditions, the reulst does not reflect the driver, he should enjoy it, I wouldnt imagine it will happen again.

No it might not have been the most spectaular way to get a win but nonetheless he stuck it out, he and his team made all the correct decisions regarding tyres and pits stops so he fully deserves it.

at the end of the day a win is a win. other people have won less spectacularly and are classed as brilliant drivers.

And yes sadly JA wont stop talking about this now, especially if button qualifies in the top 10 at Turkey.

Coincidentally, him and Damon Hill now share the Hungarian Grand Prix as their initial triumph.

It would have been good for the championship for MS too pick up some points but I was please to see NH on the podium as he is a very good driver. Still, all that matters is JB has his first race win.

Imagine what would have happend had he been 4th on the grid. He beat Alonso, Raikonnen and Schumacher.

and Speed

HOOORAY

Eat that whoever said Button will never win a grand prix or that Barrichello would win Hondas only Grand Prix win

i think he would of even beaten Alonso if alonso hadn't had a problem

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS, lol sorry for the caps! get in there! from the first time he sat in that Williams in 2000 I knew he was gonna be a winner, and I for one never lost faith in the lad, not once. he totally totally deserves this, and after a crap world cup, England have a winner to be proud of! Well done Jense, and big respect to his Dad for being there with him all the way, thought we'd never see another 'Damon', now let's hope it's the first of many! Completely made my day that has, took the sting out of the Portugal game for me!
