So the reason why they keep adding races from year to year is that the odds of having a decent race in a whole season are slightly better?
Though I agree this one was rather good.

It just shows that Kimi and Alonso are the best drievrs in F1 by a country mile. No offence to Schumacher, but even in a fast car I don't think he would come close!

Hey guys!!! I have just watched the race in Suzuka and I have to say it was more than wonderful. There were a lot of overtaking moves from Kimi and Fernado, which was great.Kimi showed why he is one of the best drivers in F1.
If Mercedez can improve their cars, there is no reason for Kimi to become champion next year. Still,he has a lot of time to get the crown because he is only 25,which is 1 year older than Fernando Alonso.Fernado also showed his class by 2 times overtaking 6-times champions Michael Schumacher. His move with extreme high speed over Mark Weber is also signigicant at the end of the race.
However,I feel a little bit pity for Kimi not to win the championship this year especially when I watched him today. He showed everything: his speed, skill, durability. In fact, not many drivers can finish in the podium when they have to start from the back.In this case, Kimi won when he started at 17th.You may say that it is because of his MP5 and maybe the appearance of Safety Car in the race. But if you watched the race today, there is no doubt in your mind that Kimi is slightly better than Fernardo when it comes to maximizing the speed in every lap and putting the energy in every race.Well, talking about this, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.If Kimi raced more tactically in some races this year in order to get points rather than winning every race, he would have been the World Champion.
In sum, congratulations to Kimi and Fernado, they are the new generations of F1.Michael Schumacher seems to be a veteran right now, and may be he will not be in the top 5 next year because we also have Jenson,Juan, and some promising drivers around.
Cheers,

Don't agree, those three were the class of the field today, schu dident have pace but the driveing he showed to keep the kids at bay was first class.

Finally a race worth getting up at a ridiculous hour to watch. It was nice to finally get to see Kimi and Fernando actually racing against each other too

I agree, it would have been even better if Shumacher had a truly competitive car so we could properly compare Alonso and Kimi with him.

I think it just showed that Schumacher is no longer the best driver in F1.

I thought alonso's move round the outside of schi semostrated this perfectly, you need to be good to make a move like that but you need the guy your passing to be just as good. If alonso was going round the outside of sato at nearily 200mph I think they'd be scraping his spanish face of the wall.

The FIA ruined the race and I think the result may have been a lot different but for Whiting but it was a good race
Alonso got past klien fairly and built up a 9 sec lead, he was closing right behind schumacher, he then has to slow and let klien past and then loses more time getting past klien then he ends up in traffic behind JV that costs him further 10 secs after pitstop so all in all he lost a good 25 secs through it all then to add insult to injury whiting emails renault and says oops our mistake he shouldnt have had to give place back to klien and given the amount of time Alonso lost he would have won the race in my opinion

I think you are being a little too hard on schumi, his ferrari was more than two seconds off the pace today, how did you expect him to defend his position when he was clearly much slower on the straights? It's quite clear that alonso and raikkonen are champions, but before downgrading schumi i would wait to see him battling those other two on same level car. BTW, i think schumi season this year has been quite good actually, he has always been consistent given the crap he was driving, always outperformed rubens, and din'd complain too much.

Well I certainly said it was dull ... and I still do! One decent race, when the Driver's Championship is over hardly makes F1 exciting. The fact that the grid was all over the place certainly helped generate some overtaking, but if we'd had it dry for qualifying, I reckon it would have been the same as always. Sad that excitement comes down to having changeable weather conditions on Saturday!! That said, it was still ONE good race, so who's for letting Bernie loose with a hosepipe during qualifying???

It's all ifs and buts again. If the FIA didn't have the stupid engine rule, Kimi would probably have won the world championship. I wouldn't have thought Alonso will be too upset as he's already won the title, but if McLaren snatch the Constructors' title Flavio may be a bit upset! By the way, yes I was a bit harsh on MS, I was just trying to emphasise that Kimia nd Alonso drove superbly once again, and those who say that it will be the end of F1 when MS leaves will have seen that F1's future is in safe hands.

Well done Kimi, never mind Fisi, maybe next time, however, look out next year, MS is not on the retirement heap yet, another championship next year and then I think he may retire - what a champion and so many records! Can anyone ever surpass him?
