not too sure about the sprint race, but I thought the second one was excellent! it was nice to see the cars sliding around etc, brought back memories of what I regard as the golden age in F1 in the 1970-1980's

Have a look at the "A1 Was It Any Good" thread as there's a fair bit of discussion in there on this subject.

I went, I thought the feature race in particular was superb entertainment.

Hi dave (from Dunedin?)

I really enjoyed the spectacle and the race. It was perhaps a bit more processional at the front than I expected, particularly in the sprint race. Shame that NZ and France had problems as they seemed to have the speed to challenge Brazil. Nice to see SA make up plenty of places during the course of the race. I will certainly watch the next meeting, so that's a vote of confidence.

Good to see SA getting hammered by the Kiwis and Ozzies on the race track as well as everywhere else ;-)

I was at Brands hatch yesterday - Quite enjoyed the A1.

The sprint race was a bit dull, as the teams were saving themselves for the feature race, but once we got to the feature race, thats when it got better. When Team GBR got into first place by the quicker pitstops, the atmosphere was fantastic ( and 1 minute later everything went flat when the car went pop...) I think well worth following the series.

It was a shame that the day was marred by the TWO AND A HALF hours it took for us to leave the Brands Hatch car park...! Next year, when it is back in the UK, I shall be watching from the comfort of my own armchair...

Howzit amackayj

Our team actually did well yesterday, getting up to sixth from second to last in the feature race was pleasing. SABC3 show the whole meeting live.

I was at work so I tried to get some info from the "official website", do you think it told me when the main race started? No... Er...

Would still prefer the qualifying to be 1hr like it used to be in F1, I think this would work better as all cars are equal (allegedly). Glad to see GBR not disgracing themselves either. Am a bit doubtful about watching Sky's coverage - have they commentators who know what theyare talking about or are they James Allan?

Ask me again after 2 more races!

As a Brit, the first thing I wanted to know was how did our car perform and 6th place wasn't a bad start. I'm not bothered if it's F1,conkers or ferret throwing as long as the Brits do well.

The commentators are Ben Edwards (he seems to commentate on most motorsport on TV now!!), who is excellent, and since he is on ITV's payroll should be commentating on F1 while James Allen gets relegated to tea boy or something. And John Watson, who is ok I guess.

80,000 spectators at the first ever race eh? I think weather it was intended to or not it can and will rival F1 in terms of popularity if F1 doesnt get its act together!!!
