I think its sad that people on here choose to make pathetic remarks about these 2 Tennis players who have conducted themselves so professionaly and tried so hard to reach the final. The only criricism I have is that Justine could have been a little more gracious to Amelie. But in view of her disappointment she can be forgiven. Apart from that the better player on the day most definitely did win and she deserved it.

Congrats to both ladies: there was much quality tennis albeit matched by a lot of nervousness. And some of the touch shots - particularly Amelie's - at the bet were superb. It was also nice to hear their sporting comments about each other at the end. Very few of the American stars (with the honourable exceptions of Agassi and Roddick) even bother to mention their opponent.

The song was 'Feeling Good'. The original was by Nina Simone, but this was a cover version. There are lots of covers of this song (I just checked on itunes!) but the the nina Simone version is the best.

And yes, I agree with both Jill and Belgian Fan about the less than charitable comments made about JHH. Sorry, those sort of comments are mean-spirited and completely uncalled for sadface

I really enjoyed that match, and anyone who didn't appreciate the rarity of two women players actually bothering to volley needs their head examining - there have been far too many childish messages complaining because neither of the players were glamorous Russian blondes.

Back to the tennis, Mauresmo fully deserves her victory, and she was the better all-round player. Henin-Hardenne's volleying was excellent, but her groundstrokes let her down (particularly passing shots - maybe she's just not used to playing against someone who volleys so much, and well), and also I think the fact that winning Wimbledon would have given her the full set of slam titles may have made her a bit nervous.

Anyway, congratulations to both players - they've restored my faith in womens' grasscourt tennis, demonstrated that you don't have to be one-dimensional to win these days...

JHH started off very confident especially when interviewed pre-match saying the best person will win. When she got out on court everything was flowing and she seemed to have the air of a winner. At the beginning of the second set she shanked a serve very badly and I think she was already seeing victory. She wanted the win so badly that her level definately dropped and she got tight - her forehand broke down, shortly afterwards by her serve.
I actually thought JHH was gracious after the match. She must have been hurt but it didn't show.
Must be great for Amelie though and her career must only take a boast from such a fighting victory. Creating history for France e.g. first win since Lenglen. I think she will now mature into a great player. She was good but now I think her confidence will soar.

I found the artist.. The cover of 'Feeling Good' is by Muse.

There is plenty of good music used during the SW19 coverage. During the profile of Rafa (just now) they played Teardrop by Massive Attack.. fantastic song smiley
