How do these woman even think about getting the same prize money as men. If they call this entertainment then I am a Marsian.

Yesterday we had some great matches such as Ancic-Djokovic,Tursunov-Nieminen, Bjorkman-Mirnyi, Hewitt-Ferrer, and today I get to watch this rubbish.

Be careful what you say guys . winkeyeGS2 gave me a right old tongue lashing before for daring to have a negative opinion about the ladies Tennis. He thinks he is right and everybody else is wrong. So he resorts to personal insults instead of having a sensible unbiased debate. He fails so he insults people on this message board. Semms though I am not the only one who thinks about the state of play in the ladies game.
Which will have the biggest crowds and queue ??
The ladies matches today or the mens on Wednesday??
Answers here not on a postcard please.

Once again you're wrong Twig - god that is one thing you're good at. Feel free not to like Women's tennis just stop trying to pass off your opinions as facts.

As for you ever having an unbiased debate laugh

I have to agree this women's event is so boring. We needed Venus Williams and Martina Hingis to do well but unfortunately it looks like they are just about finished. It seems like a new generation has taken over and the great players such as Hingis, Williams Sisters, Davenport are on their way out. Its sad for women's tennis though because right now this Wimbledon women's event is not exciting. No really big tough three set matches and no suprises. All the top four seeds made the semifinals. Although Mauresmo indeed did have the toughest quaterfinal against Myskina. I do think the semifinals will actually be interesting though.

I don't think some of the women have the right attitude, they seem to be far more interested in prize money than the men. Once some of them have made enough money, their hunger seems to disappear.

Well, I'm a supporter of the women's game, but even I have to admit that these quarters have been miserable, a few flashes of brilliance in the Mauresmo-Myskina encounter, but that's all, and I'm not very optimistic about the semis either...

God this is getting boring. Read my message - I said you were wrong about me objecting to someones opinion - just objecting to how you present your opinions as some kind of unbreakable fact.

As for the name calling - you're right I shouldn't but it seems to be the only way to get through to the likes of you. Reasoned debate & argument seems to be beyond your comprehension.

Why do women think they deserve the same prize money as men with this utter sh*t tennis. You dont see women footballers getting the same pay as men, why? Because its not as exciting

We need Hingis, Williams Sisters, Davenport Pierce, back. Where is that sparkle that glamour? Women's tennis was so exciting in the late 1990s and up to 2003. The excitment is gone the superstar status is gone. I do admire the Belgians though they really are just so talented. But we don't know their true personality. Is Clijsters really that nice? Or is that just PR? At least with Justine we can see a glimmer of her true personality? I think the media need to really spend time with these players like spend a day with them and try to get some in depth articles about these Belgians and Russian or French players. The public needs to feel a connection to them.

That's because football is not a women's sport, whereas tennis is.

What men's tennis is exciting?
AO - FEDERER
FO - NADAL
W - FEDERER
USO - FEDERER
EVERY BLOODY YEAR

@ least in the women anyone can win it, although it is always the bloody Belgians and Russians making the finals.

I am not really a Federer fan and I would rather more people would win the grand slams, but Federer wins everything in style and his opponents often play high quality tennis but they are simply not good enough.

Wimbledon, on the men's side, is a complete non-event anyway, there was a 2 year window where no-one knew who the winner would be, but now we're right back in the Sampras era, mark 2...

I mean, we've got a potential Federer-Bjorkman semi to look forward to! I don't know about anyone else, but I smell an upset there! doh

They should just give him the bloody trophy now, and show some doubles instead...
