He's just beaten Ginepri 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 with a double break in the third...

Reduced Ginepri to a wreck at the end!

Let's see what the Murray-sceptics have to say now!

Who will he face in the Semi-Final?

Lleyton Hewitt in the semi.
Should be interesting, I doubt Hewitt will be able to 'wear down' Murray in the way he does to so many other players...

His ranking will go up to 82 apparently even if he loses to hewitt...

Great win for Murray and good to see him not giving up and fighting back. Hewitt hasn't been in the best of form so far and has scraped through against some very ordinary opponents. Let's see Murray do what Henman never could.

Has Hewitt already beaten Schricipan (sp)?

I thought they were due to play later

That of course is assuming Hewitt wins his QF...

Lord, this board is slow this morning again.

Although I wasn't expecting Murray to beat Ginepri, I really don't expect him to beat Hewitt, even if Hewitt is looking out of it a touch. I think Hewitts too good to for Murray, for now anyway.

Actually we don't know that yet. Hewitt still has to win over Srichapan in the QFs.

Mark Petchey was talking only about Hewitt just now...

He'll beat Srichiphan anyway surely...

It's fed vs. Muller in a bit isn't it?

If this <grr> board will let me, I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest that Murray will end up playing Srichaphan - Hewitt really struggled against Gimmelstob, and Srichaphan on home turf (or carpet).
Fantastic that Murray's in the semi no matter whom he plays.

I hope so n00k1e!
But you know how Hewitt is, and Srichaphan is the sort of player that could well fall apart against him.

I second that last sentence! Just seen the result as I logged on at work ... incredible! I really didn't expect this result - I've forgotten all about my depression over the Davis Cup tie result!! Well done, Andy!

Fantastic win for Andy.

Taking everything into consideration I reckon his best result so far. Stepanek at Wimbledon looks better on paper but home advantage played a big factor and Stepanek never semeed up for that match. Beating Ginepri (who has just come off a USO semi-final so clearly on form) from a set down having just played 2 rounds following a mentally draining DC defeat followed by a long flight shows some real guts and determination - on top of genuine world class talent.

I agree, ginepris his best win so far without a doubt.

Ginepri's just oming off his great form in the US open, and Murray really had to battle to get back in it...

Thank you folks, I didn't think Hewitt had won yet.

Anyone who looked at my value bet prediction earlier in the week would have seen that I suggested backing both Hewitt and Schricapan E/W(sp?) as the odds were 9/1 and 33/1.

I actually feel Schricapan could win, home advantage and all that. Either way, both SHOULD beat Murray and for those of you who took the bet this SHOULD be a guaranteed payout.

That said, Murray will probably go and win the flipping tournament now <doh>

I assume some of you actually watched the match - what are Murray's best attributes as a player?

Just watched most of this match and Murray played some fantastic shots - he is a very exciting player to watch and, as the Sky comentator said, his change of pace is unbelieveable as well as his defence. So many rallys he looked as though he was out and yet still came through to win!

Well done Andy - i fancy him against Hewitt (or Schrish)....

Great win for Murray - not many people I've spoken to were giving him much chance against Ginepri. Whether it's Hewitt or Srichaphan in the semis I think Andy will give them a very hard time ;)
