Why whenever we discuss English sport do the BBC insist on having a sweaty sock on the panel?

What on earth has an English test cricket victory have to do with a foreign Country? We don't have a French person or a German on.

All we get then is the Scottish bleating about how the English do this or the English say that, well this is England!!!

It's about time the BBC decided to have a BBC England where ONLY English people were invited on. I really couldn't care less about Scotland or Scottish sportsmen in the same way I couldn't care less about French or German sportsmen.

I don't know a single person that ever supports Scotland in anything, nor do I see why we should do.

Simon Mayo has to be the worst for it and that sweaty sock Leckie is just annoying.

So, this station could interview all of the Englnd cricket team, but not Simon Jones despite his great bowling performances, because he's Welsh, and not Duncan Fletcher the man who masterminded it all, because he's Zimbabwean.

This posting has been hidden during moderation because it broke the House Rules in some way.

The more enlightened Celts support the England cricket team..the rest of the riff raff are probably Celtic or Cardiff City fans.

I think you need an outside perspective, otherwise, as seems to be the case at the moment, you get all hysterically worked-up and patriotic, when its not really justified.
Sorry, its a minority sport with obscure rules.

Same with the Rugby world cup win - that became Diana-style hysteria, wrapping each other in Union Jacks, very few of whom actually understood the sport, they just got carried away in a celebration of Englishness.

Your media does this all the time, hence your football team always getting massively over-hyped, then crashing'n'burning.

Don't mind you lot winning, but the coverage now is starting to border on the silly and rather desparate....

the english have always been unclear of their position in the union hence their colonising of the union flag to represent their team, when the flag was designed by the scots king james the sixth, of scotand and first of the uk.
ditto, their singing of " Rule Britannia", written by scotsman james thomson, poet, of whose song, Wagner said, the first eight notes sum up the british character.

I don't care about that. It's not the people who play for England it's the whining of what are in effect foreigners, who seem to fear English pride in success, especially the sweaty socks.

Apart from extreme Ironing and Curling they never achieve anything except to try to put England down.

How many sweaty socks moan about us going on about 1966, yet they constantly go on about Celtic winning the European Cup in 1901 or something.

I think there's a class element to this as well.
Its apparantly OK for English cricketers & Rugby players to get innebriated...what a jolly laugh!

However footballers in such states are panned as being crass chavs.

At least they're not elistist...

That's because the Scottish political elite are frightened of English nationalism. The Scottish nationalists are some of the most biggoted people on the planet yet are seen as "acceptable" whilst all English nationalists are seen as "racists"

The Scottish political elite need a united Kingdon as it's the only way they can achieve any real political power. THEY keep England down as a nation.

I can assure you that given a vote tomorrow the English would vote to dump Scotland, Wales and NI quicker than that.

Scotland is a dying Country, it's population is in decline, it has the worst health levels in the EU, despite me in England having to pay more to fund their health services than in England, no one wants to live there and the Scots seem to hate anyone foreign who lives there, not to mention the religious problems that are not far off making Scotland another Northern Ireland.

Would YOU want to live there?

It's the EWCB but the team playing is ENGLAND, the Welsh Counties in effect play in English leagues, just as Cardiff could in theory win the English Premiership.
