Hello Boardies!
Only a couple more days until we say hello to a brand new year!
It seems that 2011 still has one more ker-razy Newsround story for us!
The government of Samoa have decided to get rid of Friday December 30th this year! The Pacific Island will have an entire day erased from their calendar.
You can read all about it on the Newsround website: www.bbc.co.uk/newsro...
But never mind losing a day, what would you do if you could magically ADD your own day to the calendar?
What would you call it and what would happen on that day?
I think I’d invent a day called Bounce Day where everyone would have to go about their daily business whilst hopping on one leg!

i think i would to have a day where you could buy anything anywhere an it would only cos a penny!!!! i would love a that day it would be better than xmas!! OMG what if it really happened. -

If I invented my own day it would be called mega holiday Friday! I called it that because you can watch TV from 7:00 till 11:30.Also you can have another meal of anything your kids want to eat! I think it would be the best of my life!!!!!

My day would be Joy Day. People would all decorate their houses and give a present to someone they don't know very well. And everyone would sing the Joy Day anthem.

hi my day would be called KIDS day out where all the kids get to
do what we want and disobay the adults and rule the school and it
happens from 7:00 am - 12:00 pm. we also get to eat all the sweets we

Hi, my fabulous day would be called "do-what-ever-you-want-to-do-day" and it would do what what it says!!!! So you could invent a chocolate bar if you fancied it or fly a plane or even star in your own tv program!!! What do you think xxx

I would have a
day were the channels were closed apart from and you could go on no other website apart from and the messageboards were open till 7am-12pm (7 in the morning and 12 in the night)

this is totally cool!!! my day would be shop till you drop day!!!!!!!

Hey! I would have a day called KT's Free Banned School Day!
Nobody would go to school. They would eat what they like do what they want and most importantly everything is free! You could get an IPad 2 for free! Then you would stay up as long as you like and never EVER go to school again!

i had sooooo many ideas i couldnt pick one so i wrotw them all down!!!
1) i always wanted to be in space so i thouoght we could have a day when everyone gets to travel around in thin air floating around and be able to travel at extreme speed or a relaxing nap in the sky.
2) imagen anything in the world is in a sweetand choco form and you can eat anything you want but of coarse it will have to be a special type so it wont melt in any temperature!!!
3) did you ever wanted to have anything you want ? well you can now because today is the day when you wish it and you get it! HOW COOL IS THAT???!!! but remember not to be greedy!!!(max. 3 things) it can be an object , occasion or food basically anythign u want !!! (i would want MERLIN!!!(NOT COLIN MORGAN!!!)!!!)

If I could invent a whole day it would be called Geeky Orka Day and everyone would have to wear round glasses, carry books and make orca noises (whale noises) all day! Hahahaaha!

I would invent a day when the adults at home and at school have to listen to the children. Also the adults would have to do their chores, clean their bedroom wash the dishes, take the children out to Thorpe park and Alton towers. If the adults don't do what they are told they will have to pay a fine. I would want to invent day because adults will know how it feels like being a child and I would call this day LISTEN TO YOUR KID .

I would add an extra day called "World Day". It would be on the 31st of September. On the third second of the first minute of the ninth hour, everyone shouts out their favourite word. It would be like the one minute silence on Remembrance Day, only shorter and happier!

I would get treatment for all the ill people in the world and then ban smoking!! Oh I nearly forgot, force the whole population to build a profiterole tower as high as the Eiffel tower!! I

I'd invent a day called 'Laser day' when everyone could get together somewhere, with bumper cars with special things on, we'd then drive around in our bumper cars, we'd have laser guns in one hand, and when the special thing gets hit by a laser, it would just go up in smoke, and then the person driving the bumper car would go out. Then we'd end up playing that over and over again. THIS EVENT IS FOR KIDS ONLY!
