    Hey,

I've been looking through my art book and i'm really stuck with it, it looks really boring.

Everything looks really 2D and it has no little hidden places or anything to make it stand out and be touchy feely and i want my book to look more like that.

Can anyone give me any ideas or tips to make my book more exciting?

And also for titles aswell, i need some help with making them more interesting.

My theme for art is celebrities and media if that helps, thanks!!

    heeey smiley - smiley

basically what i do in my art book is make sure there is like no white page! i hate having white pages so i try and do a different background on all my artists pages or any pages that arent ful of drawings! try doing washes, collagey bits, acrylics etc and trust me it will start looking fab!

When you annotate your work you could use flaps to make it more interesting and try writing in unusual ways, maybe spiralling round the page or in a different handwriting from what you usually write in.

If your worried that your work looks flat and 2d trying looking more closely and observently at what your drawing and use lots of different tones to make it 3d. if your finding it hard ask your teacher for some help, thats what theyre paid for after all, may aswell make them work for it smiley - winkeye haha.

titles...crazy writing? decorated bubble writing? bold vibrant colours?

Right so your theme is celebrities? celebs are normally associated with red carpets and glamour, so why not add a touch of glamour to your book? sequins, rich colours..theres soo much to chose from!

if you cant think of ideas the best thing to do is type into google things like sketchbooks etc.

i hope ive helped you somehow! good luck and i hope it goes well smiley - smiley

    xx

I have that problem as well, I'm doing my theme on addiction and on some of the pages I have white space which I hate, it makes the page look empty.

you could do something about how the media portrays celebrities and instead of making it look all glamorous make it dark. to make it stand out you could make pockets and hidden inside could be different words or statements of how they could be feeling when in the papers they see something awful written about them selves-ive done something like this before and i was the only one that came up with the idea of the darker side to fame.
    hope that helps
