Why does George Grundy have an accent that suggests that he should be the offspring of Caroline and Oliver rather than Will and Emma?

Why does George Grundy have an accent that suggests that he should be the offspring of Caroline and Oliver rather than Will and Emma? I've only just joined the Archers' Blog and one of the reasons (apart from being addicted to the programme for the last 40 years) is that I'm becoming more and more irritated by George's ridiculous accent . He sounds like he's been brought up by Prince Charles instead of the Grundys. And has anyone forgotten that Pheobe - admittedly the offspring of posh Kate - was actually brought up by Brummie Hayley and country boy Roy with lots of input from the Tucker household. So how come she turned out speaking like Princess Anne! Come on casting directors, don't insult the intelligence of your dedicated followers by making the characters unbelievable. After all that's why us radio listeners tune in. Rant over. But I can't believe there are not more us about.
