Forgot to say that the cancelled wedding was in 1981. If Joanna was actually 12 or 13 at that time Bunty and Reg must have had a Mike and Vicky incident, but of course it wouldn't be impossible.
I was wrong.
I always thought Joanna was a snotty little pre-teen who "was desperate to be a bridesmaid" and Bunty was unpleasantly mean to the poor overweight young girl, who mooned around dreaming of wearing a "bridesmaid dress" (a desired object which I never got to have, my mother being Quaker, and us not knowing anyone who had religious weddings).
But if she was much older, Bunty must anyway have been even more unpleasant trying to make the tubby teenager/thickset twenties-something woman go on a diet.

Surely Joe must be next - and soon From your lips to God's (VW anyway) ears.

From your lips to God's (VW anyway) ears.
Oh yes please.
At least there would be something to cheer then.

I was wondering if they had been doing an audit on the ages of forgotten silents, as they seem to have lived a long time (Mr Pullen was 'over 60' and incontinent for as long as I can remember).
Then hopefully, they will start on the not so silents who go on for ever (Joe first).

Bunty had a good innings, and at least she died peacefully. She will, I think, be long remembered, not just by her family but by all those whose lives she touched.
I do so hope we'll hear the funeral.

Only real memory I have of Bunty is when the wedding was cancelled. Phil said something to the effect that at least they wouldn't have to have dinner with Reg and Bunty, who bored them witless, any more!

I'd forgotten Moira Kent, her name I mean, I remember the stories.

And Phil's conversation was so witty, informative and entertaining. What a pity we didn't hear Bunty 'n Reg making a similar comment about Phil 'n Jill.

Is it evil to hope that Joanna will be terribly elegant at the funeral and looking more than the age difference younger?
