Another CM for you guys and you just sold one of your wingers.

Danny Murphy is a better player than him (or Jenas).. oh well.

Tottenham are welcome to the greedy frenchman! I know Hammers were after him but I was hoping we would not buy him as he is injured, and really not that good of a player, I know he looked the business but your mum would look good playing amongst the lack of talent at Fulham

Is it just me or does there seem to be less activity today compared to usual last days of the summer transfer window? There's plenty of speculation, but not much seems to be materialising.

it usually happens later in the day i think.

Quoted from this message

Wrong on several counts. First, Malbranque can play anywhere across the midfield. Second, Routledge has not been sold - it's just a loan deal.

Malbranque has been signed for a number of reasons. One of them is to give us the option of playing him on the right and Lennon on the left, as in a midfield of (for example):

Malbranque Jenas Zokora Lennon

Jol has not been convinced by Routledge so far - hence his loan to Fulham.

Malbranque also gives us an optional alternative to Jenas in the central midfield attacking role, as in (for example):

Lennon Malbranque Zokora Tanio/new signing

Sounds like an excellent signing. This will be the final piece in a team to continue Tottenham's Premiership domination.

Malbranque is a good , crafty continental player, beats people, great at threading passes thru, better than Jenas IMO.

Where have you heard that he's injured?

I hear that Spurs are also interested in Kewell...

Malbranque is a quality player. He has pace, skills, technique, strength, can score and has a creative aspect to his game that we badly need... I have admired him for a long time and I think it's a great signing. He can play all the positions as an attacking midfielder. Left to right... Although he is out until october, he will become a very good player for us... No doubt !

Finally we sign a midfielder who will actually improve the team instead of improving the squad.

Murphy wasn't in the reserve team last night and i have a feeling he is heading elsewhere.

I cant believe we have a signed malbranque and he's injured for 10 weeks, and we let a fully fit Routledge leave... very strange !!

Sat with a Fulham season ticket on the train this morning who said the Malbranc (or however you spell it!) has been there best player over the last three years. He's genrally held in higher esteem than Boa Morte.

I am pleased we have him. He's tony blairs favorite player as well. erm

I'm not fussed about losing Routlidge either.

im a big fan of malbranque. hes a good signing for centre mid plus he can also play on the right.

im wondering if lennon may get a few games on the left wing if we dont solve that problem today.

i know the idiots tihnk its a bad buy but to me it seems like a sound bit of business. it means in centre mid we now have 4 good players (zokora, tainio, jenas and malbranque) plus davids who is getting on a bit. i personally see zokora as a long term replacement for davids and steed as a replacement for carrick.

his signing does in no way impact whether jol will sign a left winger. if you want to blame someone for the lack of left winger and stupid transfer policy it isnt jols fault. hes been asking levy for a left winger for time but he hasnt delivered as he is stingy and wont make boro a decent offer for downing.

Defoe to Villa would be nice - might bang a few goals in and leave Spurs regreting not giving him a proper run out.

He might even recover the form he had with the Kings of the South Coast biggrin

I am waiting for you to post something as funny as your quip yesterday about Arsenal signing Ronaldinho..

How everyone laughed eh? I seem to rememeber even you were creased up in laughter at your own joke. It was that funny.

Hopefully we can expect more?
