We all know The great repected Mark Hughes played for Chelsea therefore you are right to be his 'fan'.Please do not act as if you are a mighty red devil fan.And please for FFS go and discuss Chelsea's loss with the cluless Middlesbrough, ok?

just my match analysis..

fletcher was awesome , covered every inch of the grass and actually showed lot of vision and made lots of forward passes(so unlike him)

--------------------------------------------

I din't mean to be cynical but I can see in a couple of months, after a few less than stellar results:
fletcher was (crap) , covered every inch of the grass (like a headless chicken) and actually showed (no)vision and made (no) forward passes(so like him)

Good performance tonight. We really stuffed them for the full 90 minutes. I don't know why Evra is getting stick. He made one or two slips because of the conditions but his defending is far better and his attacking play and link up with Ronaldo was excellent. Adds something different to our play.

Everyone, bar Mickey S, had good games tonight. Good to see Fletcher put in a confident and well rounded performance. A performance like that with 6 first teamers out is very encouraging. And Ole scoring was the perfect finale.

mark hughes fan..i've got some shocking news for you.

the world's moved on in the last fifteen years, and if you're that big a fan of hughes, go off and support blackburn, because you sure as hell don't support united.

Markhughesfan, Do you only have negative things to say about United and SAF. You stated we would not buy any players this season and we have.

You keep saying we have had the easier start, Charlton and Fulham both finished higher than Man City and we beat both. Middlesborough yes is the toughest of the four, but none of these four teams are expected to beat the top 4 teams.

You clearly do not wish to see United win or get do well.

It looks like the transfer of Hargreaves looking increasingly unlikely

I think Fergie won't bother to sign a midfielder if he cant get Hargreaves now. It is good in a way, as it shows that he isn't settling for any DM out there.

I think he might still push for a striker but i am quite happy with our strike force. As long as it isn't a out and out striker or a goal poacher than i don't mind. Maybe Tevez could be on the way. I really rate Tevez, if we had him in the side, it would allow Ronaldo to push up more as Teves likes to drop deep like Rooney.

But i'd rather have a destructive defensive midfielder. Mascherano said he doesn't want to leave until the Brazil finishes.
I really rate Javier Mascherano, he is clearly a talented player
So does the Brazilian season finish by January? If so, do you guys reckon we should move for him in January?

I am gonna say someone that hasn't been mentioned this summer on these boards but i honestly did mention this guy a few times last season cos he really impressed me. He scored tonite as well against Chelski as well. Yes, Lee Cattermole. I really think he has got bags of potential.

What do you guys think of Cattermole?
& Mascherano?
& Tevez?

Fully agree with your post but having watched the entire match we weren't that special in the first half.

The last 5-10 mins of the first half was fantastic and that got carried over to the second half to great effect. From there on it was one way traffic.

Poor finishing, the woodwork and Carson saw a very underwhelming scoreline. 3-0 flattered Charlton at the end and does not really tell the full story.

What this performance proves is Utd to a man are really hungry and up to the challenge ahead. Just imagine the team with Carrick playing from the start, with Rooney and the option of Scholes? Frightening! biggrin

hey we are having fun here giggsy, dont depress us with these wanting overrated foreign players. fergie finally has figured out the best for man utd. home based players and english type players. till someone else comes to england from a foreign country and plays well enough to convince me, i dont want us interested in any numpty foreign midfield

I thought (only thought mind) that Tevez looked like he was being played slightly out of position in the WC: but he looked dangerous and very talented; much like Rooney in the WC.

Don't know enough about him.

Fergy only really wants to sign young players; Tevez would appear to be a good signing -- but didn't Chelsea want him? I reckon they'll nip in in front of United if we went for him in January and were threatening them in the league (which we will be).

Great to see us making a good start for a change, starting where we left off last season - which for some bizzarre reason nobody seemed to think we could acheive? Even with players coming back and signing Carrick?

It's a mad world I tell you.

HAHAHAHA Dowie working his magic again I see, the bouncebackability goes on. I don't normally like Man Utd winning but I was in hysterics tonight. Great to see Dowie - the tactical genius, over-rated and inept manager taking Charlton down.

I think SAF has his little heart set on Hargreaves. It is Hargreaves or no one else.

Bayern will relent, mark my words.

Cattermole? Very similar to Fletch, would opt for the Scot over any mole!

I know what you meant, and I wasn't taking a dig at you specifically. BUT we all know what these boards are like and there are lots of people who would turn on him as soon as look at him.
