Liverpool leave it late to beat Maccabi, but goals from new boys Craig Bellamy and Mark Gonzalez leave the Reds with a slender advantage going into the second leg.

Your views on the game, should Liverpool have won more comfortably? Do you see any problems with having conceded an away goal?

I think maccabi haifa were hard working ,I think we should have started with crouch and bellamy both upfront little and large partnership cos we get crosses in when crouch is there,I was pleased with the new boys and I am sure we'll get better as the season goes on.

Not too bad in the end. Considering the season hasn't kicked off they kept going until the end and got the result.

Maccabi Haifa are clearly an under-rated team, they were hard working...I like many I'm sure were surprised.

It was a struggle but a win is a win. Good sign that Bellamy and Gonzalez have got their first proper Liverpool goals already. Of course we need to get things firing on all cylinders yet, but again it's a win.

Pennant provided width and balance to the team( better than Cisse) but lack of brains also and his skill levels are minimal.
