Gallas Shirt Snub.

IS this the end of Chelseas No 1 defender. Will Chelsea let him go Ac Milan or put him in a make shift deal with Arsenal, or will Chelsea let him rot in reserves. We all know he wants to go, Its not about the money for him. I think he is just tired of the Chelsea way. PS He was holidaying with Henry and his family in Islands........food for thought

Well I hope Henry had a little word and told him he'd be welcome at Arsenal should he wish to leave chelski.

I think it's the end which is a real shame for one of Chelsea's most unsung heros. Itís inconceivable that Jose would let him move to a rival premiership clubÖ isnít it!! Italy seems likely.

Interesting about holidaying with Henry, surprised that hasn't come out in the press already (maybe it has and I've missed it!).

Personally I think Chelsea will let him rot in the reserves. They don't need the money for him and treating him like that will (a) send a message out to the other players about what Mourinho/Chelsea will and will not tolerate from them and (b)obviously stop him from going to another club for a year, which I suppose might in turn persuade him to stop moaning and get on with job.

I'm not being a defensive Chelsea fan here - rather an interested Cambridge Utd fan! - what do you mean by "tired of the Chelsea way?"

¨ Gallas has a "legitimate" explanation for his absence, we'll find out about it in the next few days;

¨ Mourinho doesn't want to sell him as he's his best defender, but it appears he may well have played his last game for Chelsea;

¨ He'll either go to Milan alongside Crespo (if they can afford both) or he'll have stay to honour his contract for one more season;

¨ Chelsea will most certainly NOT sell Gallas to Arsenal;

Funnily enough I saw pictures of Henry on holiday in Miami, and during Berkamps testimonial they said he had flown back from the US to be there and was flying back afterwards.

Wasn't the US where Gallas failed to turn up?

Of course we have heard of John Terry but Gallas IS chelski's best defender.

- better on the ball
- scores more goals
- better defensively
- Can play anywhere along the back
- Didnt have a suspect world cup

Gallas is technically the better player out of the two.

If he were to leave Chelsea he would be a huge loss for them.

It will be interesting to see how Mourinho reacts. I remember when Drogba stated he wanted to go and Jose basically said he would be there til the end of his contract. Financially Chelsea have no need to sell him even if he doesn't play again. I hope for his sake this doesn't happen but you wouldn't put it past them.

I think Jose will just let him rot in the Reserves. As much as I don't like Chelsea I have to admit that I like Jose's style of management, if a player is contracted to a team they should see out their contract unless the management decides to let them go. I am tired of all these players whining and demanding to be traded to other teams. They signed the contract and should see it out...

Gallas wants to go to Milan so he will not go to Arsenal as chelsea have already shown with Duff to Spurs, they will not allow their players to join their rivals

It certainly looks like it. It has been widely reported (and for some time) that Gallas has wanted to leave. Not for money reasons, perhaps for footballing reasons (he is allegedly unhappy at being played out of his favoured position - strange, some players moan about NOT playing; Billy moans about not playing in HIS favoured position - guess you can't please them all). The last reports I read were that he just wanted a fresh challenge; to win trophies in another league - which suggests he wishes to move away from England.

I will be sad to see him leave - he has been a top player for us. I think it is a shame that it has come to this - petulant acts of defiance, the club coming across as the 'bully'; the stuff with the shirt - real playground childishness.

I think it's par for the course, now though. What with agents and family and other parasites 'advising' the player and advising any journo hack who will listen.

Is he finished at CFC? He and his agent seem to be doing their hardest to ensure this.

Where will he go? Likely abroad. Would be very surprised if Jose sells him to Wenger or Fergie (and, to be fair, CFC don't HAVE to sell Gallas -they could let him rot in the reserves, to teach him a lesson [which would be a terrible shame on both sides]).

Will I be upset? I will be sad to see him leave, but life goes on. Players come, players go. Zola left and Chelsea survived.

poor behaviour on the part of the player...but i also feel for him, he was great for 5 years, gave his all, then decided he wanted a new challenge and rather than go behind the clubs back he was up front with them and asked for a transfer....but this isnt good enough for chelsea and they tell him he isnt going anywhere, just like with drogba when mourinho arrogantly said in a press conference that droga would stay and play happy or he wouldnt play at all, i really think in this respect that chelsea treat their players poorly...but with so much money they can afford to keep players rotting in the reserves

Look,

I have noticed thats, once theirs a problem at Chelsea (a bust up, an arguement, a player is bought or sold) People (Especially English) tend to make it look like its Pay Per View! Gallas is leaving! and so what, no man is an Island! he would be replaced. Jaap Stam left Manchester United, they still won the Premiership, The famous back 5 was replaced, they went on an unbeaten run. At the end of the DayGallas replaced Leboeuf, and one day he would be replaced.....
I dont hear Milan crying about Maldini retiring soon... I now alot of Jealousy and envy may be the problem but people need to check themselves

I cant believe the amount of attention people place on Chelsea, especially the media. Robben has a scratch! Call CNN, Ballack is going to sing, Call P Diddy. Common man

perhaps a swap involving Ashley Cole might be on the cards plus a few million quid.
