The Franken-Stadion is the tournament's smallest venue, and is set to play host to England v Trinidad & Tobago, amongst other group games. The stadium has a colourful 78-year history, from being used as a marching area for the Hitler Youth in the thirties, to hosting the 1967 European Cup Final between Bayern Munich and Rangers.

Ah, I see humour is no longer allowed on these boards either. Jokes about the Nuremberg trials are on topic, yet they've been hidden. Why?

Don't they do re-enactments of them, then, just for the tourists? How disappointing!

......and how is it that these City Guide threads have to be taken away every few days and replaced by a brand spanking new one? You'd think the hosts had got nothing better to do!!!

It couldn't be because someone's wonderful idea to get us all posting nice little travelogues instead of nasty rough stuff about football has turned out to be one of the biggest turkeys in MB history?

Oh, just to stay on Topic, I promise I'll post lots of interesting stuff about Nuremburg if ever I go there (which I probably won't unless they get their act together and put on seem really good re-enactments!)

I go to Nuremberg at least twice a year and I love the p[lace. The locals are very friendly have a great sense of humour( and that includes jokes about the war). If you get the chance and want a change from footie (why would you though?) then you could check out the Cine Cittia. I believe its Europes largest cinema complex and its all built UNDER the city!!!!

Oh and if you want a decent watering hole check ou O'Sheas Irish bar down near the river. They do great food and they serve Fosters.

Is there a main central square ? It's where we normally get together. I'll be out there and have no feel for how big/small the place is. I know the stadium is small.

The city is a medium size place like say Sheffield. There is a large main square and some smaller ones and a few parks too where they could possibly have a large screen. I have friends out there so I'll aske them where the big screens are and post the locations for you later

I've got a hotel booked in Erlangen - about 10kms north of Nuremberg and only paying £60 for the night (rather than the £250+ I was quoted to stay in the city!)

I'm flying into Friedrichshafen in the morning, picking up a hire car and then bombing northwards - hopefully will take about three hours to get there, then it's only 15 minutes on the train from Erlangen into central Nuremberg.

Finally got my tickets this morning, so excitement levels are building! Any other fans flying in the morning of the game?

WATCH OUT !!!!!!!

There is a monkey man in Nuremburg who attacks people at night time.

He is 7ft tall and is covered in dark brown fur.

Dont find a hotel in Nuremburg as he comes in through the window and will scratch and bite you.
