Appeal for Italians club shouldn't have affeted their punishment at all. They will now feel they've got away with it. They should have been more severly punished for trying to appeal!

Fiorentina would have been better off going to Serie B knowing that they would come straight up, NOW with a 19 points deduction they are more likely to fight for religation from the beginning to the end they might go down

Why should they be more severely punished for appealing? Don't most democratic countries allow appeals? Your reasoning is both biased and wrong.

I think everyone is happy.

The clubs concerned have been punished less and more importantly, Napoli now have amuch better chance of promotion with only Juve to worry about rather than Juve, Fiorentina and Lazio smiley

what a ******* joke
ye lets give them a large penalty - making them realise they cant do what the please
then on appeal - lets shorten it soo much they can practically have little consequences

in fairnest if they had been found guilty surely their punishment should stand its saying to other clubs hey do what you like you'l get a slight punishment but dont worry if you appeal you'l be let off i dont agree with this decision and thought common sense would prevail all punishments were too light

in reality, only Juventus did much wrong and their punishment is still severe.

I knew this would happen, their authorities have no backbone, just like the Spanish with the racist! If this happened with the English FA, FIFA would step in immediately and put a stop to the leniency.

This is yet another example of football's governing bodies bowing to pressure from men in suits. You have to remember the Italian league was delayed for a tv deal not too long ago - feel sorry for Inter as AC will no doubt win it again !

Stop overreacting, muppets. Juve, the team at the centre of it all are still in Serie B, and unlikely to come straight back up. Most of their best players have or will leave, the entire board has resigned and two of their most prominent figures have been barred from football for 5 years. Try telling thats not a big punishment.

As for the other teams, Lazio and Fiorentina may well end up battling for relagation, and if they get relegated it's probably worse than being put down a division by the authorities.

Milan, well, nobody really knows how involved they were. Surprised they got put back into the CL, maybe UEFA would've been fair given Empoli's situation. Bear in mind the FA have get the money in too, it was a balancing act making sure they hurt the clubs but not themselves too much.

I think that it's a disgrace that the penalties have been lessened, the fact that lazio have been reinstated into Serie A is a joke, an 11 point reduction is insignificant. It will limit them to a mid table finish if that and then the following season things will be back to normal. An example needs to be made of these clubs to prevent others doing just the same thing in years to come.

Thats one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
They wont be fighting for relegation.. far from it.
There are 38 games with 114 points available.. even only half of those in Fiorentia's predicament is comfortable mid table. They would appreicate the TV revenue in Serie A also for not playing in Euorpe.

Typical. And $50 says that Fiorentina and Lazio further appeal in the Italian courts and get the entire points deduction removed and replaced with a 7,500 euro fine and a promise never to do it again.

All 4 clubs should have been thrown out of Serie A, Juventus should have been dropped to Serie C, and all 4 should have paid 10,000,000+ euro fines.

Instead Milan will be in the Champions League next year, what a joke.

If you think the punishments are worse than relegation then think again. How can that be ? As even if you do get relegated you are still in the position you were before the appeal but no points docked doh

But also think if this happened at your own club. It is the fans who suffer for the crimes of the people at the club.

i must say i agree with what some1 said earlier

if this had happened with English clubs lets say - Liverpool,Chelsea,Man Utd and Arsenal (or any 4 teams in the premiership) Fifa would have been straight into the fold, but as its in Italy is alright

What a joke Italian football is....
The 4 clubs involved were punished because of their involvement in organised crime and now they have been let off due to their involvement in organised crime. Its like a soap opera and the rest of the rest of the world is laughing at them

Milan have gotten away with it basically because the Italian FA doesnt want anymore top star players leaving Serie A.
The Italian FA are spinless

no backbone???

I would like to see the English FA demote Manchester United for bullying refs.
