The irony for us English as Italy are what SGE aspired too. Italy after half-time - Very negative. Very cynical. They obviously knew they'd been practising penalties. Although what Zidane was thinking no one will ever know

The sending off was correct. However yet again this ref allows others to make the decision for him aka Rooney being sent off by players.

Congratulations Italy. So pleased for you. Would have hated to see France win - especially after Zidane's moment of madness. 5 out of 5 on pens for Italy - classy real classy. Glad you came out on top after the heartache you've suffered on pens in the past.

WELL DONE ITALY. I thought France were the better team, but you rode the luck and delievered in the end... The Cup was always written for Italy: - Lucky last minute penalty v Australia - Arguably, the easiest match in the quarter-finals - Two last minute goals v Germany (I think the best match in the tournament) - Zidane's idiocy resulting in France down to 10 men However, it takes a good side to take advantage, and Italy did just that. Congratulations.

Zidane blows France's chances by
1. Leaving his team a man down
2. Leaving his team without their best penalty kicker
3. Giving baldies a bad name everywhere
What the hell were you thinking, lad?

France dominated that game overall and should have won. The best team lost, the cheaters won.
