Evening all,

Thierry Henry smashes in a fantastic goal to send Brazil packing.

The right result? France looked impressive with Zidane showing he still has what it takes.

What's your take on the game?

Excellent match, Zidane has been incredable.

Great to see the two most hyped teams go out on the same day smiley

Sticking with the old adage, non Euro teams can't cut it in Europe.

Brazil have lost to a French team that couldnt beat Korea & Switzerland, unbelievable.

Ronaldo too slow, Ronnie..very overrated. Adriano most overrated. Parreira should resign.

The truth that makes France such a dangerous team is that they have the physical domination and pace reminiscent of an African team and the Nous of a European team, add to that Zizou...now thats a dangerous combination.

postscript - only Euro teams left now.

My prediction would be

GERMANY v FRANCE final.

both these teams have beaten the favorites, their confidence will take them to the final. mark my words!

If France play like they did for the first 60 minutes of that tie then they'll win the world cup, no question.

The best performance ive seen from them since Euro 2000.

In fact one of the top 3 performance's of the world cup.

Holy cow, who would have thought? Seems like the curse still works: South American teams can't win in Europe (I know, Brazil won in Sweden in 58). Seems like the "old" French team is still capable of winning something. Or was it the Brazilian arrogance (of course we will win, who can beat us). They never really performed well in the tournament, but this defeat is a huge surprise to me. So it's an all European semi-final.

a wonderful performance by the french team, great team and great spirit.

watching this match tonight, i feel that the likes of lampard, gerrard and beckham just don't have that intelligence and skill level at any significant level.

when the french won control of the ball they used it, instead of what england do, which is to hoof it forward.

they split the brazilians open time and time again, by taking the risk of having an attack that was as flexible as it was effective.

Thierry normally chokes up, but he must of had an off night tonight smiley

Nice finish though even though it would have been awfully hard to miss that chance. Got in a good position.

Best game to date. Shame it was ruined by a French referee who appeared determined that whatever happened it was his job to protect the French lead (which he did well after accepting the dive for a free kick)....

Just knew France would win when I saw Brazil practising their celebration on Sky News today.

They were too over-confident & France made them pay for it.
