Bye bye Ronaldo, to get a fellow professional sent off is disgraceful, to get a team mate sent off is unforgiveable. You take so much money from playing here, you will never be forgiven, leave now.

Well this is what happens when the weight of a nations expectations are placed on the shoulders of one young man (Rooney). Now that the media have built him up quite spectacularly, Im sure everyone will now enjoy ripping him to pieces, wayne welcome to the guy everybody loves to hate list.
As for the result, well we've seen it time and again havent we so Im sure nobody is really suprised at the result. Perhaps we would be better off if it was handbags at twenty paces. Goodbye Sven (and good ridance) and welcome Steve, and of course international footballing obscurity for our team. Doesnt the future look bright? erm maybe not unless of course you happen to be working for Orange.

Seeing as FIFA are so keen to get racism out of football perhaps they might like to do something about the diving and cheating at the same time.

Ah well, at least I can look forward to some tears from Ronaldo when Brazil dump them out in the semi.

Lampard should never have taken one, his confidence is rock bottom. Idiot decision by Sven, should have been Ashley Cole.

Beckham should never have started - amazing how we looked better with ten men and no Becks than with eleven.

Thank God Sven is out and we maybe have a chance at the Euros.

How pathetic are the BBC???? Trying to makeout that Ronaldo is the vilian in the Rooney sending off. At least it better than what the did in '98, when they made Beckham public enemy No1.

Im Asian, and I have to say, I feel bad for England. Portugal are the biggest cheats I have seen play. I know Rooney was sent off, but was he actually looking where he left his foot? Did it look vicious? I certainly didnt think so. Ronaldo, obviously didnt care that Rooney is his club mate as it wont be for much longer. First Holland, now England. One cheat in Argentina are out. The other cheat is through to the semi final. I really hope Germany win the world cup now.

Cheer up Englishmen, it is not your team, it is your coach. Individually most English players are quite capable of playing well, but they lack an understanding of teamplay and that has to be taught by the national coach. If England gets another coach, they might become a formidable opponent.

BTW, after the disgracing show Portugal put up against the Netherlands, I supported England in this match - and heah, I'm German ;)

Have you ever seen such pathetic penalties from england, why do they place them instead of hitting into the roof of the net - they're paid enough money for gods sake so they should be able to do that. Also why not just hit them straight in the middle
