Afternoon all,

This is the thread for your reaction to Italy's 2-0 win over the Czechs.

Good game I thought. We'd like your opinions - did the Czechs deserve to go out and how do you think Italy will fare in the later stages? Are they serious contenders for the trophy?

Let us know your thoughts.

Sad to see Czechs go out, they were more entertaining than Italy.

Rosicky will be great in the Premiership tho

Czechs deserved to go out for their wimpy performance against the Ghanians. Today was no different.

Italy are extremely tough to beat and if the draw is kind to them, I can see them reaching the final

on 3) are you saying all the red cards in this year's world cup were are for diving, if not why are you linking the two?

Don't be silly. Even when Czechs lost, Rosicky was the best player. Don't expect 30 yard blinders every match. Czech midfield did well against Italy and Ghana, their problem was impotent attack without Koller and leaky defence not to mention silly red cards.

If you followed European football closely you would know that Rosicky and Koller played for Dortmund and looked superb week in week out. As an Arsenal fan I remember Rosicky playing against us in 2002-03 and being excellent. You've clearly just watched him at the world cup.

Italy in the final? Don't make me laugh

They will get trounced once the play a decent team with aerial ability. The Czech's desperately missed Koller no doubt.

does anyone else get annoyed with Inzaghi's goal celebrations?
It seems that every single goal he scores he celebrates like he is Jesus...Today, for example, he scored an average goal and then acts like he has just scored the most spectacular goal ever.
I remember in the champions league AC were winning comfortably and he then scores a tap in from about 1cm - next thing I know he is running around the whole ground jumping over billboards and bowing his head in his hands like he is about to cry. Most annoying if you ask me!

I am so angry at the result grr

The Czechs have been SCREWED out of progressing. BAD REFEREEING, DIVING, CHEATING, INJURES, they DESERVED to go through. The performance of the referees today have been a DISGRACE to the tournament.

AND WHAT IS WITH THE BBC TELLING US THAT WE SHOULD SUPPORT GAHNA BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRICAN?????????????????

WHY DO YOU KEEP ON TELLING US THEY ARE AFRICAN??

I DONT CARE IF THEY ARE AFRICAN! AND I DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR CRAPPY COMMENTARY AND PUNDITRY!!

GAHNA ARE A DIVING, CHEATING, HORRIBLE COUNTRY WHO HAVE CHEATED THEIR WAY TO THE SECOND ROUND. THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE THERE DISPITE WHAT THE OUT OF TOUCH MIDDLE CLASS INEPT BBC HAVE TO SAY

I HOPE A HOLE OPENS UP IN THE EARTH AND THE BBC GOES TO HELL WHERE IT BELONGS

I WILL NOT SUPPORT A DISGUSTING CHEATING COUNTRY LIKE GAHNA IN ANY TOURNAMENT OF FOOTBALL, IN FACT I HOPE THE COUNTRY FAILS COMPELTELY AT EVERYTHING FOREVERMORE

I WILL BE LAUGHING ONCE THEY ARE THUMPED IN THE NEXT ROUND

AAARRRGGEEENNNTTTTINNNNNNAAAA!!!

Italy crushed and controlled Ghana (Who now look a very very good side), Italy crushed and controlled Czech Republic. They are yet to get out of first gear and they still crush teams. Italy will have a big part in this WC.

Well done Italy, well done Ghana, what a surprise... FIFA would have had the Czech Rep and USA through, they were the favourites according to the ranking system, so a real turn-up for the books! Anyone else as shocked as I am...??

I've thought Rosicky was good for ages, i'm just excited that he's moving to Arsenal. Notice also that Czechs were good in 2004 when he was an important player too.
