Evening all,
This is the thread for reaction to Spain's 3-1 win over Tunisia.
Quite a few of you it seems are unconvinced by Spain and don't think they can go all the way. Some have said they doubt they'll get past the QFs. They certainly looked poor in the first half.
Fabregas I thought was outstanding.
Let us know your opinions.
David

Fabregas played well....
Aragones, however, is a bad image for world football.
I don't think Spain has the spine to reach the semi-finals. Their record is one of chokers.
Because of Aragones racist slur against Henry, for which he still has not apologised, the sooner Spain get kicked out of the knockout stage, the better.

Surely being able to break down a side as dogged as Tunisia, by throwing on subsitutions and matchwinners like Fabregas and Raul means Spain can progress?
It's not all about rolling over teams, it's about being able to take a game by the scruff of the neck in the 60th minute and find that result, that win.
Sorry but I still think Spain showed enough tonight to be a contender.

With alosno covering and cesc bombing forward I don't see why spain can't win the world cup.
Cesc and Alonso were both superb.

Yo David, what a man Francesc Fabregas Soler!!
Spain has very impressive strength in depth. Iniesta, Fabregas, Joaquin and Raul among others on the bench! Not to mention Canizares a very underrated goalkeeper(see Valencia form).
I felt a bit sorry for Tunisia, some really good play when nothing was expected of them. Maybe Spain underestimated them? Still, if they beat Ukraine and Spain beat Saudi Arabia they can go through.
Martin O'Neill the legend and Alan Hansen are right, Fabregas changed the game. He's very young and is no outrageous skill-merchant like Zidane(1995-2002) or Ronaldinho of present, just quick brain, quick touch and inspirational!

Spain is one of the better teams, along with Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Holland, England and Germany. Any of these teams is good enough to win the cup, especially Argentina and Brazil.

Fabregas - The Destroyer in Chief! Fabulous display. Spain looked good, just less effective today; I wouldn't write them out yet. However, Tunisia have themselves to blame for inept tactics. In this world, only England is capable of defending a single goal; Tunisia overreached their depths.
Trivia: What does France, Tunisia, and Ivory Coast have in common in this world cup?

tunisia deserved more than this loss, and despite the win spain have shown the usual signs of weaknesses that make it a perenial loser in the big stages: aimlessness and flacid defending. i dont see how they can win against the stronger teams - my prediction is that they will wilt under pressure and these weaknesses will prevent them from progressing past the QFs. and once more the referreing was attrocious, uneven, and plainly tilted towards one side.

Fabregas was very good, as were Xavi and Alonso in the second half. The quality definitely improved. However, Tunisia were rather unlucky to lose by two goals, which doesn't do them justice. The referee was dreadful, and seemed biased towards Spain. Still, Tunisia can qualify, if they beat Ukraine

Futher evidence of just how good Fabregas is/will become. He totally changed the game for Spain with his creative passing and foward running. Could be a contender for young player of the tournament if he manages to force his way into the starting 11.
As for Spain in general they looked decent in the second half after the substitutions. As soon as they got the 1st they were always going to go on and win it. Joaquin provided a good outlet on the right. Villa was fairly quiet not seen a lot of him and i was a little disappointed.
Spain and Ukraine should qualify from this group fairly comfortably.

Tunisia played a good game. I feel they can still beat Ukraine, and if Dos Santos returns for them, they have every chance.
