Wow - What a performance from Argentina.

The Argies have proved through this game that they are a major threat to any other team that meets them.

And the quality of play was a pleasure to watch, and so was substitute Lionel Messi (74 minutes). The teenage sensation added even more class to the pitch.

Or perhaps you think they may have peaked too early?

Let us know your post-match thoughts here.

They may well have peaked too soon; but peak they are!

6-0 against a decent team and a 7th goal disallowed.
It puts our performances against lesser teams into perspective!

God help England if we come up against Argentina on current form!

That wasn't a peak-too-soon, that was a world bup winner's performance. They are just getting started I think.

I'm an england man, but that was just beautiful to watch, and let's be honest, we may have better individual players, but we don't have a TEAM.

Astonishing to watch, that 2nd goal was just mind-boggling.

argentina are now my favourites to win the world cup. their first 11 is amazing and then they bring on tevez and messi. wow. taking into account that serbia only let 1 goal in qualifying and the argentina come along and score 6. england no chance

If England top their group, they ll not meet Agrentina until late in the tournament.

I think Argentina played great, they ve got a lotta youth on their teamsheet!

I think S&M simply gave up after the first half...

Different class.

The touches and the passes for the 2nd goal were out of this world.

They look a great bet at 7/1, but i suspect the odds will seriously shorten after this performance.

With a clear penalty turned down and a ridiculous offside decision against them I'd say Argentina were even better than the scoreline suggested.

I wish people wouldn't say things like 'peaked too early' when there's no reason why any team shouldn't carry their good form through the entire World Cup.

On the strength of that they're going to take some beating though they are clearly going to have to face better sides than Serbia and Montenegro.

right on, argies play as a gr8 TEAM.....brazil probably have better individual players, but not as a team.

hope the argies win the cup, keeping this form up....would make a change from the samba boyz!

USA 1994

Argentina 5 Greece 0 in the group stages

i think they got knocked out in the quarter finals. having said that, they were a joy to watch, tremendous strength in depth of squad. if england dont win, i hope argentina do <ok>

England may improve but i think it answers the "What more do you expect?" question when you consider they conceded 1 in the entirety of qualifying in comparison to T&T and Paraguay.

once again how the hell do you work out england have better individual players ...

gerrard and lampard arent fit enuff to lace riquelme's boots...

when it comes to it only the english media think lampard and gerrard are brillant but technically not in the argies league

Why is everyone saying England have no chance based in Argentina's performance? England have no chance based on their own performance. We should be saying Brazil have no chance.

Now that is how to play football! Some wonderful stuff from Argentina.

I felt sorry for s&m. It was a mauling. They only had about 10 touches.
